Colorado at Stanford

Hey guys, I'm flying in to SF for the Stanford game. I've got a hotel at Union Square and wanted to see if anyone knows the best way to get to the game from here.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. Watched the whole game Saturday with Duck fans here in Honolulu. So happy we got over that hump!

Rent a car and tailgate on the lawn. I don't think public transport will get you there.

BART only goes south, down the peninsula as far as SFO. Maybe try CalTrans (train)? It runs all the way to San Jose, I think, and I'm pretty sure there are stops in Palo Alto.

from the city, the best bet is to uber the whole way to the stadium. i wouldn't recommend renting a car--- to start, it will probably cost you 75 bucks a day to park it in a union square hotel. then, you have to park it somewhere near the stadium and pay for that. uber.

@Skidmark -- i believe i've mentioned this, but i live NOWHERE near stanford. i am further away than hawaii buff will be when he's in union square.

Cal Train from 4th and King (ATT Park) to Stanford Stadium. You are allowed to drink on the train.

There's a special stop at Stanford Stadium between the other two PA stops on game days.

Leaving the arboretum parking spots at Stanford after a game can be a mess, but the tailgating setting is, IMO, among the best in the west, with UW (and CU).

That's fine. We'll make it work.

BTW, do you have super glue handy on a normal basis or should I bring my own?

just meet me in the pre-identified orchard, coordinates previously provided to you. everything you have coming to you will be provided.

Damn it. We have been over this. I stay at your place the night before enjoying cigars and bourbon with you. The next day you go and do your thing while I watch the game at your house. Alone.

Super glue? Yes or no?

Travel logistics aside, PM your addy again. If you sent it earlier I must have misplaced it.

I found a this awesome farm-to-market that delivers organic bleached asparagus, garlic, red beets, and cabbage.

Seems like a nice house gift for the mis'ess. It's the least I can do considering your hospitality for all the Bay Area bound Buffs.

I can make some damn fine gruel outta that. Liver gets none unless he changes his attitude.

I am staying in Sunnyvale and have a rental. Will be driving over to tailgate on Saturday and will be looking for a place to park and enjoy a picknik as we will truly be working out of the trunk. Also will more than likely head to the CU sponsored tailgate as well.

****. i'll probably come over to the game... but, if i do, i am either taking uber or similar. i am going to need copious amounts of alcohol to kill the pain of meeting some of you reprobates in person. ps-- just ignore the big guy with the bad attitude with me-- he's just there to carry stuff. bodies. removed body parts. those sorts of things...

Is it cool if I crash at your place?

no worries. just connect with 4dem and skiddy and then make your way to the epic bonfire and party that has been arranged. please stand on the plastic sheets when you get there.
No thanks! I'm bringing my own sheets to your scuzzy place.

I've taken Caltrain and it works well. It's slower than an armadillian dry turd, but on the way there, you can drink so who cares? The way back sucks though. Maybe train there, uber back? Caltrain leaves from 3rd and King which is a short walk (15 minute/1 mile) from union square. If you don't want to walk, take the T or E muni lines or the 30 or 45 bus.

I've also driven and parked in that grassy area and tailgated. That's fun and the Stanford fans with their granny-roller-carts filled with expensive wine are a hoot. If you're staying in union square at a hotel, it's probably $40+ to park overnight. If you're tempted to drive, just do a day rental and return it at night. Hertz, Alamo, National, and probably others have outposts right in union square.
