Melt Down in Eugene

Let's hope that there are many high profile recruits in Eugene next weekend to witness booing crowds and a total meltdown of Oregon Duck football when the Huskies crush them next weekend. I'm hoping some of those committed 4 stars get some phone calls from Buff recruiters. A win against USC will make CU look very attractive.

Now that Helfrich is on his own, some of that Hawkins patina is beginning to show through.

He has made some blunders this season along with trying to take the one and done route with QBs.

Im surprised if he doesn't get run off.

That's a great comparison. I am surprised how fast it is happening. I live in Seattle and have adopted the Huskies as my 2nd favorite team tied with WSU and DUCK is a 4 letter word up here. It is really fun to watch them implode.

ducks have not fired a coach since the 70's so for better or worse i dont think helfrich will be fired

Had the dreaded player's only meeting this week. Is Helf losing the locker-room?

I was thinking that too, but we are good enough that that will not matter. We can win enough games on our own, so who gives a **** what our competition does. So I'm back to "**** Oregon" territory.
Did you put that last quote in the wrong place?

They've got 3 games left against South teams - I wouldn't mind them beating those guys.

Cu during the Hawkins/ Helfrich era were undisciplineD and he could not recruit for crap. Both are coming him to bite him again. He cannot seem to recruit a qb to what has been qb u for so long. Frankly, I hope some recruits are watching the two programs and identifying where they want to go.

Not sure the extent of UO's injury situation, but even if Helfrich has lost this team, I'm not sure they'll roll over and play dead in Autzen against a UW they've defeated 12 straight. I expect a UW win, but I could see the Ducks making this interesting.

Oregon:
FR...SO...JR...SR..Un/Up....TOT....Unders starting/Unders in the 2 deep (O&D only)
43...19...26...14...63/40.....102....9/19

Colorado:
FR...SO...JR...SR..Un/Up....TOT....Unders starting/Unders in the 2 deep (O&D only)
37...18...25...16...55/41.....96......4/12

I do believe that I called Helfrich being Oregon's Neuheisel when they hired him.

It kind of looks like they did a much poorer job developing recruits given the larger number of starting underclassman. Its not like their recruiting is bad. Curse of the 5*?

Well, Chip did have kind of a stink on him for certain shenanigans when he split for Philly.

Even with all the success and all of the Oregon swag, I'm not sure they're able to get top-notch talent to Eugene on a consistent basis if they're on the up and up.

Maybe they've figured some things out in that regard, but I'm not surprised their recruiting fell off once Chip left.

Class balance in both the OL and DL is way out of whack in Eugene! 4 RS FR starters on the OL? Ridiculous! And their recently demoted DC killed off recruiting for the "D".
And it appears that since Helfrich has been in so many close games, even with rummies, they haven't had much "garbage time" to develop any depth.

Wishful

Wishfull thinking. They have the money to get whatever they need to insure the talent keeps coming. What they are missing is the personnel to succeed in that endeavor.
