David Gibbs, New DC?

I saw his name mentioned. Would he be worthy of consideration, especially as he is not employed after being fired by the Texans?

Great, another former Buff being considered. Lets get all of the retreads on staff at once. It will make firing them all at once and starting over next year much easier.

He did a pretty stellar job at Minnesota, although that was quite a while ago iirc. If we are stuck with embree another year i would take Gibbs over Brown. I just don't want to be embarrassed two years in a row.

Doesn't he have an aversion to recruiting? Or am I making that up in my brain? I thought I'd heard that way back.

We've got EB. He's got this. And Embree can close anyone. Also, Gibbs is known in Texas from his time with NFL's Houston. We're going to build through Texas the way Missouri did.

Because our name is mud in Cali...

I don't get this. According to Moschetti, Embre and his staff were going all out in Cal and were impressing HS staffs. If, like you guys are saying, we are mud in Cal, what the hell is the disconnect here?

Since CA recruits have been in high school, this is what they've seen when CU football has played in the state of California:

2010: Cal game
2011: Stanford & UCLA games
2012: Fresno State & USC games

Hosting CA teams in this period, we had the close game against Cal in 2011 but it was still a loss. The other games have been 2011's USC game along with 2012 games against Sacramento State, UCLA and Stanford.

There's just not a lot of credibility. The thinking is that CU recruiting is probably better off in places where west coast football isn't followed as closely.

Who's thinking? I'd never deemphasize Cal. Maybe we would have a tough time there for a couple of years, but I think keeping a presence there would be smart.

Correct. Counting on Texas while playing in a completely different conference is a poor strategy.

Yawn, unless we're discussing the new DC under a new HC, it's not even worthy of discussion.

Look forward to saving the football portion of my Buff Club donation for worthy causes if Embree and the B4L Boyz get their way....and they call US the vocal minority???? Look in the mirror, assholes.

Talk about getting lucky with this guy not coming to Boulder. In hindsight, maybe that was the turning point for the program

Welcome to reality where you're expected to read each post on the hour or your an idiot.
