Bo Pelini class act

I can't think of alot of assistant coaches who would stick around to coach a team for a bowl game after being named a head coach at another university. If that was Nick Saban you could bet the ranch he would have split the day he was hired for the other job. I'm so glad all the Alabama blow hards are stuck with that liar until he decides he would have a better life somewhere else.
My favorite Bo Pelini moment was the game that Bill Snyder had Ell Roberson score a meaningless touchdown against Pelini's Nebraska defense with just a few seconds left in the game. As soon as the game ended Pelini shot across to where Snyder was and gave him
an earfull. Pelini continued to rip him, and Snyder looked like a dog running with his tail between his legs. God, I hated that son of a bitch. He would later kick Ell Roberson off the team after allowing him to start in the Fiesta Bowl a week earlier - which they lost to Ohio State.

Fire and dedication will not be a problem in the new regime, thats for sure.

That wasn't the problem. It was that terrible defensive scheme. The offense at NU was actually decent though Ganz should have been the starter the whole season.

After this little episode I know Norm Chow was glad he was in the press box in 2004 when he laid 55 points on the OU secondary that little Bo Puppet was coaching that year for the Sooners...

Coaches stay on to finish their season with the program they are with all the time. Fairchild, hired just up the road is doing it right now. Hawkins did it as well. Urban Meyer coached Utah before leaving full time for Forida.

Also, I would be hesitant to call the BCS championship just a "bowl game". Most coaches in college football probably look at a chance to win a national championship as a very rare opportunity, and would be hesitant to give that shot up.

Plus, notating Pelini loosing his cool on Snyder doesn't really strengthen the argument that he is classy, imo. I'm not aguing that Snyder was a bit of a ****heal for that score, but it happens all the time, and coaches don't freak out about it.

He is a ****ing saint no doubt. If he goes 58-19 will you guys fire him?

It isn't necessarily a character flaw, but it doesn't strengthen your case for gentleman of the year either.

At any rate, consider the huskers long history of pounding former Big Eight schools into the turf. Anyone associated with that program should know better than to cry about getting an unnecessary score hung on them.

I totally agree. When we hung 65 on them I was screaming for 72. Run the effing score up on the fuskers whenever you get the chance.

Those days are dead and gone with Osborne. Pelini had nothing to do with them and he just doesn't strike me as the kind of chicken **** person who would put up another score with just a few ticks left to stroke his ego.
As far as pounding - I graduated from CU in 1977. I witnessed the Fairbanks years which was probably the lowest point CU football ever sank - abysmal.

Osborne is neither dead nor gone. Who do you think the man behind the curtain in fuskerville is, anyway?
Nebraska will never be the dominant program they were under Osborne - 3 national championships under his watch - that kind of success will never happen in Lincoln again. It's dead and gone, and even if Osborne runs the program - IT WILL NEVER HAVE THAT KIND OF SUCCESS AGAIN. The guy is a fossil.

He wants a ring, he knows he'll never get one in the **** hole

i find that to be slightly revisionist. there were games after usc where the team clearly did not give up on cally, but gave a superhuman effort to try to bring in a win.

That just goes to show you how two people can see different things while watching the exact same football game.
