My mother-in-law is a diehard Red Sox fan, doesn't miss a game. When we watch a game together it never fails, if the game is close in the 9th inning and there's a key at bat, I lean and get ready- while she gets up and leaves the room. When she returns I ask her how on Earth she could leave the room during that critical time and she replies, " I don't understand how you could sit there and watch it".

You remind me of my mother-in-law, and not in a bad way. My point is that there are many different kinds of fans out there who all have their own way of rooting for their teams and that is a huge reason sports are so ****ing great. Duff- don't ever change!

My mom's like that. Doesn't like watching blowouts, can't stand nail-biters. Unless her team has a 10-14 point lead, she isn't watching.

I know I am in the minority, but I do not see the true freshman at QB as a big negative. I would actually be less concerned with an experienced QB trying to adjust to new coaches a new system.
Here is a perfect example for you: UCLA’s first game. Same offensive scheme and an even more highly rated true frosh really struggled in their first game.
Everything is new for Martinez and the game speed should be pretty startling for him after over a year between a high school game and now against a P5 defense.

Oh sweet tiny football baby Jesus. Let Colorado win this game in Lincoln and bring that Polyester clad red horde crashing down to earth as reality sinks in on where they really are currently in the college football world even with the greatest coach in history since the Runza was invented.

How often do true freshmen QB’s excel in the first game of their college career at the P5 level?

Manzel lost his debut as a RS freshman.

But if you didn’t play your senior year of high school, it cancels out the bad year you would have had between senior year and Soph in college.

If I download the app do I still need to subscribe or is everything free on the app?
No, the app has you log in so you can access the articles. Right now they are having a deal for 20% off the first year! So only $48 for the year! Highly recommend at least checking out the free trial

Don't know if this garbage was posted elsewhere. I don't think this guy has ever actually watched CU play based on his comments that NU runs an up tempo offense that we can't replicate in practice, probably can't keep up with and don't know how to deal with.
Ya... we don't run up tempo ourselves. We haven't built our defense to handle the speed/spread offenses of Oregon, WSU, Cal (Bear Raid days), etc.

I was just saying the article mentioned we hung 48 on CSU.
So they didn't mention that we could have hung 75 on the Rams if HCMM had a burr in his britches? Cause that could have been the score if that's what he decided at halftime.

I am picking the Buffs to win a close game. I expect the Buffs to win a close game. I fully expect the sun shine pumpers to embrace the "negative" arguments in postgame comments and spin them as positives. Allbuffs circle of fandom.

Surprisingly good.
Average of 211 yards passing, 1.4 TDs, .8 INTs. That won't be good enough for Martinez to beat CU, unless he also has 100+ yards rushing and another 2 TDs or so on the ground. Obviously, if he has a Rosen or Mayfield type of debut, we're in trouble.

i can't believe we have to wait 2 more days.

this needs to be made an annual game-- do it late in the season like usc v. nd. the hate is good for both programs.
