Where else could CU go?

I know we left the big xii due to TX money and all.
I know we had the open invite to the PAC for years, and at one point would have been a great addition.

Now, however, I'm starting to think that if we lose out we will always be the laughingstock of hte conference.
We finish last 7 of 8 years. think about that. let it sink it. burn it into your soul.

Now that you're angry as I am, are there any other conferences where we could consider and be competitive? I know there's money involved, contracts, etc., and I don't care about that right now.

I am just spitballing and trying to find the right fit for the Buffs. Where would it be in YOUR eyes?

CU would be about mid Big12. Compete with ksu, osu, tt, iowa st, ****baylor, tcu...I would like the Big12 just because of the recruiting ties in with the conference.

NO. ISU always ruins some teams season by beating someone they shouldn't. We NEVER do that. Instead, we make OSU's season by giving them something the rest of the PAC12 won't, a road victory.
Actually I'm trying to forget Sat. so pre Sat. You're right we haven't soiled anyone's season which is why we don't have a rivalry.

Had a convo yesterday with an ISU grad and we were discussing the ISU-WV game. Loved the ISU crowd singing "Take me home, country roads" after the win. Every year, they rise up and beat some team that is supposed to kill them. I never felt confortable before an ISU game back in the day. Just hoped it wasn't us they beat, but OU or NU or UT.
We are red meat for EVERY FRICKIN TEAM that plays us.

Longmont. CU should move to Longmont.

Longmont allows RV parking, too.

Intramurals would also be an acceptably snarky answer to the question of where CU football might go.

Of course CU belongs in the Pac-12.

Yep ISU seemed to pull a rabbit out of the hat then and now. I remember a home game where we stopped ISU down by the goal line to preserve a win..only problem was the students didn't know a song to sing.

this is a really, really ****ty idea. in the long history of allbuffs, this OP might have made the top 5 in awful takes. and, that is saying something.

first, it isn't the conference's fault that we suck. this is a better cultural and academic fit than the drooling b12 (which, by the way, has only gotten worse with the inclusion of the likes of west virginia).

second, we won the south 2 years ago. if we don't **** the bed against osu, we're in position to win the south again this year.

third, the playing field is far more level in the p12 than it would be in any other p5 conference for CU. every program, even those i make fun of, is at least trying to be more than a football factory. and resources (outside of stanford and usc) are mostly reasonably equal. any p12 program can compete for and win national championships. they just have to win. and we don't have to beat outlaws like ohio state or any sec team in conference to do it.

fourth, and finally, if you don't like getting your ass kicked by bottom-feeders, then get better. you don't run and you don't hide. you learn to ****ing win. "the pride and tradition..."

the OP is awarded 15 demerits and no points for effort. he shall be relegated to the minors until his man-parts regenerate.

If we win one more game this season I want it to be WSU, if they win out they'll get a decent bowl game but they'll always remember it was us that cost them something better...the PAC wouldn't care for us much either.

I'll go down the line, agree it's a stupid OP.
I'm an old guy and don't care about academic & culture fit..I only care about football, if you insist you have to admit that in the B12 we were at the top of the ladder academically.
Sure beat OSU and for a week we're in contention and that'll look pretty until WSU & Utah come to town.
Is being considered a football factory a bad thing? CU has been known as LB U, OL U and recently DB U. So you know OSU just spent good money upgrading their baseball facilities not the football stadium, they suck at everything else but they can win Nattys at something. I gather you don't consider SC an outlaw.
Your 4th point I agree with completely only problem is other than 16 we've been the bottom feeder.

let's compare and contrast to utah. utah was a non-p5 team entering the conference with us. they lacked the tradition, the resources, the facilities, etc., that we enjoy. yet, they have been far better in conference. why?

1. a better foundation was in place when they got here. we were an absolute dumpster fire. they had depth chart integrity and all the basics in place. we had a ****ing disaster.

2. they have strong coaches and consistency in executing a plan. we have had coaching issues and scheme changes.

3. they have a recruiting strategy that works for their plan. they have a pipeline with the poly kids in particular.

so, do you suppose utah is wishing they could go play weaker conference foes? **** no. they are glad they are here and they are stepping up. we have every advantage that they do not and we have posters who want to run and hide. it is ****ing ridiculous.

They also have had consistency in coaching. When they have replaced a Coordinator they didn't go straight to the bottom of the barrel. They actually brought in 'head coaches"

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Conversely though, UU has women's gymnastics & some how they've figured out how to have a Baseball team, one is among the nations best and one is mediocre at and both sports increase their foot print.
They also didn't receive a full share of P12 income for the first 2 yrs.

utes also preach Toughness...something cu has yet to figure out
Can't stress that enough. Living in SLC and working in a building on their campus, I have to deal with them bringing this up constantly while looking at the Buffs helmet on my desk. We aren't tough because we're not told we're tough by the coaching staff. I can't stand it when they say it...but on the inside I can't deny it either.

The PAC12 is a good fit for CU, athletically and academically.
I keep hearing this, but nobody has yet explained to me the connection between PAC12 athletics and university academics. Do we just feel smarter being connected to Stanford?

Anyway if it’s conference championships we want, how about looking into whatever conference Nichols State is in? We were 4-9 but rolled them 48-0.

Is thrust thread what people are talking about when they reference the dark web?
