This is a great hire! HCMT needs a young guy who is going to do what he is told. We don’t need some old grizzled veteran who has his own ways.

We got the opposite on the offensive side of the ball. A proven veteran with a unique proven system.

With his connections into SEC country. I’ll take it!!

I hope.

Huh. If we believe the hiring so far is the direct result of the lack of budget, what makes you believe Todd Graham would come here?
I don't know what we believe. Lots of speculation on this, but we don't know. Could be that we're going to hire more position coaches who make what Chev does in that $500k range for those last 4 spots to poach position coaches after their ESD & bowl commitments are over. Hard to know.

What's the accuracy of our Twitter stalking game anyway? Kudos to @Jeric for the Summers. Chris Kapilovic is "no idea yet". Any other candidates so far?

THis is the one hire that I haven't liked so far, but if he finishes up with Todd Graham, UNC's OL coach, and (longshot) Tee Martin, I'm ecstatic and will trust him completely on Summers

Recruiting Nation on ESPNU Radio said that they expect massive assistant coach movement after Early Signing and that it is the trend now. Tough for coaches to move before. I think MT has some good coaches lined up but they cannot come yet. We will sacrifice some recruits for coaches this year and then will have an epic recruiting class next year.

Plenty players left after ESD. If they are good at recruiting, they should close strong.

Yeah, color me wildly unimpressed by both coordinator hires to date. This guy who's been coaching in CFB and NFL for two decades can't do better than 2 Analysts from UGA? Looks really short sighted. Tucker's not going to have the leash Mac did when it comes to immediate results. He will be firmly in the Hot Seat if CU has a bad season in 2019. Don't want to be presumptuous, but at first glance, Tucker isn't getting off to a great start so far. Recruits are bailing faster than I was expecting, and then two Good Old Boy hires as coordinators is pretty suspect. If he doesn't close with a bang in recruiting and/or land some home run assistants with his remaining hires, natives will be restless. Or at least one native with two thumbs will be.
DOOM! ****ING RELAX

I read what you just wrote and my response hasn't changed. Program cachet doesn't matter and if we pay, they will come.
Right. Excellent discourse! Heads up, doesn’t appear that we can pay more than the top programs right now.

Relax. Yes relax buff fans, I mean this program has 2 bowl appearances in the last 12 years. Why would anyone have reservations about anything cu football?
We got 3 coaches from a top 5 team in the nation. How is that a bad thing? Who did we think we were going to get? They come from winning stock and we act like this is a huge fail! WTF?

That's not really fair to Tucker if there's going to be an over-react to every move he makes based on a default assumption that it will fail because past coaches failed.

It makes sense for Tucker to want to have two coordinators that he worked with and knows well. They know him too and how he wants to run things. I was hoping for two guys that were already on staff and getting promoted, not to QC guys. My imagined staff was probably not realistic. Actually, both guys have pretty solid resumes and are likely both upgrades from last years coordinators.
For now, I’m still excited to have HCMT running the show.
The last four spots are getting more critical though.

Think Aub fans were jumping at joy with their new OC hire?

Nope.

But they know what Gus is doing.

Embarrassing. Anyone who’s coached at CSU in any capacity doesn’t deserve to be on this staff. I wouldn’t take Sonny in his prime as a DC. If we were gonna be Georgia’s JV we should have just saved the money and kept Mac. I HATE Mac,
So that tells you how embarrassing this entire thing has been so far.

putting aside the fine hatred on display, the one time he played cu, his D way out played ours.

Lanning has the reputation as being a better recruiter, which trumps Summers coaching resume. However, looking at 247 the two are comparable when you omit the commits to UGA, who you would expect to be a higher caliber.

If what Summers has managed in over a decade is comparable to what Lanning managed in two seasons at Memphis just starting his career while having to omit Lanning's best work, then they aren't actually comparable. Kirby hired Lanning over him in the first place and Lanning was Tucker's first choice so I don't know how it's even an argument.

You are an idiot.

Ok Sonny was good. But a used up DC at CSU coming to be a DC here is embarrassing. Wear those rose colored glasses if you like but that’s the kind of guy that should be a LB coach
He spent 1 year at CSU after being a DC at UCF for 3. He was hired away from CSU to become the HC at Georgia Southern. He failed as a HC, got fired his 2nd year, and took an Analyst job at UGA.

But if you want to spin that as "a used up DC at CSU coming to be DC here", then that's fine. You do you.
