Official Bowl Games Thread

First off, if you choose to post about how meaningless bowl games are in this thread... go you!

As always, I will be enjoying watching matchups you would rarely get outside of bowl games.

What bowl games are you looking forward to this bowl season (outside of NY6)? My list:

Armed Forces Bowl: Army vs. Houston
Music City Bowl: Auburn vs. Purdue (obviously)
Alamo Bowl: Iowa State vs. Washington State
Liberty Bowl: Missouri vs. Oklahoma State
Citrus Bowl: Kentucky vs. Penn State

ASU vs Fresno St in the Las Vegas bowl tomorrow looks semi appealing
Miami vs Wisconsin Pinstripe bowl, couple of teams having a not so great year, but should be a good matchup
West Virginia vs Syracuse Camping World (seriously?) bowl, although I thought I read Grier is sitting it out
+1 on ISU vs Wazzu
Florida vs Michigan Peach Bowl, should have some pretty good defense

then basically everything December 31st onward

I decided to take the 20th through the 1st off in order to install tile throughout our main floor. Rip out all the carpet, fix any subfloor issues, underlayment, and 12x24 tiles. So I'll have the TV on pretty much the whole time, and probably watching every bowl game during that stretch. That'll be a first.

I'm most looking forward to the Sugar Bowl: Texas vs Georgia. Should be a fun matchup. Will there be a noticeable decline in Georgia's defense without Mel on the sideline? Unlike most here, I'm rooting for Texas. :ducks:

I'm also curious to see if UCF can keep up their win streak against LSU in the Fiesta Bowl. Looks like the last team in the FBS with back-to-back perfect seasons is Oklahoma way back in 1955-1956.

I'll be watching the Camellia Bowl with my brother at my local watering hole. Funny how sometimes serendipity rears its head ... I completed my undergrad degree at Eastern Michigan University ... my brother received his MBA from Georgia Southern while stationed as a Naval Aviator at Glencoe NAS in the Vietnam War era.

And now they face off against each other in what will be an epic confrontation! The official nicknames of both teams are the "Eagles" ... easily the most hackneyed of all collegiate nicknames other than "Tigers" ... which is kind of funny considering that my brother's undergrad degree is from Princeton (he was one of the last "single-wing" centers in CFB history). But to me EMU will always be the "Hurons" ... a noble and revered nickname to all ancient EMU alums.

GO HURONS!!!

I think I'm cheering for ASU to beat Fresno State.

As much as I can't stand the Sun Devils and don't want them to gain recruiting momentum, I think reversing the national narrative on the Pac-12 by the conference having a great bow season would be hugely important.

Texas vs Georgia...I cannot root for those Longhorns.
WSU-ISU...why not?
ASU-Frenso State...decent one...if ASU wins, another reason to cut back on our MWC scheduling.
Georgia Southern-EMU...Summers did recruit some of those kids.

If I wanted to just feel sick, I'd watch Baylor vs Vanderbilt.

I think that's pretty much it.

Same feeling here. We need less embarrassment.

I hate that rule. I don't think it should result in a turnover. But at the very least, give the other team the ball at the spot of the fumble instead of at the 20.
Agreed. It’s such a harsh rule and momentum changer. ASU’s offense did a **** job with that opportunity though.

I would rather have any fumble out of bounds result in a turnover. Punish to the offense for lack of ball security.

Fresno isn’t UCF, but Tedford has done a good job there and they are a top G5 team. A PAC12 also-ran beating them would be a good look for the conference
