Other Games 11/12 - 11/16

Uh, Georgia has 3 wins against teams in the top 16. Regardless, it's make or break for them in the SEC Championship game - win and they're unquestionably in the playoff but lose and they're not getting in with 2 losses and coming off a loss.

They've got the second best resume in the country to LSU RN, and they're going to the playoff if they win the SEC. My issue's the game control/eye test kind of stuff, especially when you're playing people you're better than. Their loss is BAD. They've let mediocre opponents like Tennessee (Tennessee had a lead for most of the first half) and Kentucky (that game was scoreless at the half) hang around. I don't have this concern with the other three in the Top 4-Clemson's clunker of a win at Chapel Hill looks more and more like the exception after what they did to Wake today. Nobody has come within 24 points of Ohio State. LSU's controlled most of the games they've played against what I'd call inferior teams (Their OOC outside of Texas, Mississippi State, and tonight to this point).

I don't think they've got enough firepower to hang with the LSU offense though.

lol Mike MacIntyre's defense looks like one of the worst pass defenses in the country. Burrow has 267 through the air already tonight

Nothing about today signals fragile, does it?

Better way to put that might be he needs to go to a team who doesn't need to play him right away IF he can continue to play football. I'll say this-he's awfully tempting for me if I'm Elway or somebody with multiple picks in Rounds 2 or 3 if he does fall.

Your message referenced a big upset. Maybe you were referring to some other game.
Top 10 win is a top 10 win, just because the spread says Iowa was favored doesn’t mean it’s not an upset. Iowa was barely ranked and has played ranked teams like **** all season while Minnesota was coming off a top 10 win of its own.

Had Gophers won I don’t think a single person who didn’t have money on the game would say wow Gophers got the upset!

He has actually really improved a bad Ole Miss defense this season. But you guys have some weird vendetta against the guy.

Looking at the numbers, yeah-but I'll say this: LSU's offense has made every defense they've played look silly

Would agree. He doesn't have great talent to work with at Ole Miss. Also the guy was a very good defensive coach before he got his HC jobs.

At CU he was a good coach, his recruiting is what got him fired.

If you say so.
A friend went to the game tonight with his co-worker who’s an Auburn fan, said guy thought they could beat Georgia and Bama and get into the playoff.

If CU had Luton do we already have 6 or 7 wins? Luton has turned into a pretty decent QB, not sure if could give Smith or Lindgren more credit for that though.

I did not even have high expectations for Auburn this year, but was hoping to see a nice developmental year for Nix. He still looks really lost and the job is basically his by default for the next couple seasons. 8-4/9-3 type seasons would be palatable if it did not feel like a very good defense was being wasted.

They definitely don't have the offensive firepower to hang with LSU's offense but Georgia's defense should match up well against the LSU offense. And as @patebuff said Kirby needs to open up that offense. He has a couple of good backs in Swift and Herrien and they were very efficient in the 2nd half against ND. And if Kirby doesn't get gun-shy on 4th down with a 10-point lead they could have won that game going away.

Regarding UGA's lackluster games against mediocre opponents, yes the USC loss was a bad loss but they have the good wins to make up for that. You mentioned the first half against UT, but Georgia led by 12 at halftime and won that game by 29. The Kentucky game was played in terrible weather but as you saw today this team plays tough, low-scoring games for the most part. And they still beat Kentucky by 21.

Lindgren has never recruited a good QB. He has always inherited average/pretty good QB's. Good OC, absolute terrible recruiter

His DB's are all 5'9 or smaller. I'm surprised Baylor is the first team to figure it out
Baylor isn't the first to figure it out. So far though over the past few years OU has been able to outscore most people.

Have never heard anything to indicate anyone interested but I wonder if MikeMac wouldn't be a good choice for their defensive coordinator. He wouldn't be counted on to recruit and he is very good with defensive backfields. OU can recruit pass rushers.

I can't believe what I am watching in the OU-Baylor game. I've been watching Baylor box scores, shaking my head at their undefeated record against ****ty teams and relishing this game so they can get their asses kicked. Umm, they might actually be good.
