He’s a Grad Assistant so I think he’ll need to finish his Masters and then maybe gets a QC role until one of the 10 AC positions open up

How much of a raise and assistant salary increase are you considering for that kind of ask?
Coaches now hold the leverage, not the ADs.
I don’t have access to RG’s books, so I can’t answer that question. But as this would be a negotiation, if RG is going to agree to a raise, I’d want assurances from Tucker’s end that he’s not going to put his name in for every random P5 head coach opening. The best way to do that would be to have him agree to a higher buyout.

Rooney is the worst writer I've seen covering the Buffs in many years -- he actually makes the hack at the Denver Post look good when he comments on football. Yeah, I get it, try to get clicks, but come on.....quit being such a negative nancy all the freaking time. Stick to basketball, and his annual "Tad is the best/the worst" that he repeats every damned year.

Love hearing those comments. We’ll see if he truly believes this in the next year or two.
Sounds great. Those are the kind of words that can really come back to haunt you if you end up taking a job somewhere else in a year or two. Could come across as very Todd Graham-ish. But if he holds true and builds a legacy here, all the better.
I don't think Tucker is that type of guy, but what I've learned is that the b.s. hypocrisy only matters to the fans and players of the former team. The new group embraces the "dream school where I plan to be forever" stuff with full blinders on. There's no career penalty for being a full of **** opportunist as long as you win.
I think he stays here for at least 10 years. That would be karma for all the pain and suffering we have endured over the years.
If we want to keep him, the formula is simple: give him everything he needs to beat USC and pay him market value.

I think he truly wants to make it work here and fully intends to stay. But if he finds that he isn’t getting support, I could see him going somewhere that does support football. That’s my big worry. That is, that CU is going to CU.
When Neuhisel left for UW, he said it was because the level of support at CU wasn’t what was needed to win. I think his exact words were that CU was a “Have not”. We thought he was full of ****, but his words have proven to be true. Now, he turned out to be a fraud, so it’s easy to discount his comments, but I think RG has done a lot to turn that perception around. There will be challenges at any school, and perhaps the admissions hurdles are an obstacle MT wasn’t anticipating. Still, I’d like to think we have finally learned from our mistakes and are done with the self inflicted program suicide.
He doesn’t cover Buffs football. He writes opinion pieces. Such was the case yesterday which, I thought, was just a summary of many of the various posts on message boards around town.
It was an opinion. He has his. You have yours. It’s not a big deal, is it. He did predict 5-7 last year.
Neuhisel was/is full of ****. CU was a national power and continued to be after he left. Now I admit that the CU administration did end up destroying the program and I admit CU’s financial support paled in comparison to Washington.
