I hope CU looks to bring some out of work coaches in as analysts. Guys that are living off buyouts and don't need much of a salary and got lost in the coaching change musical chairs. CU seems to generally have taken the "up and comer" approach, but this seems like the ideal place for an experienced veteran that isn't into recruiting. I don't have a name, but if we could bring in someone who has play calling experience to help Chev that would be ideal.

So I am assuming we are running the same offensive and defensive schemes as last year?? Seems like it. Maybe because of the time of year or the head coach thinks it’s a good system??

SIAP but Mark Smith for another secondary coach?

Currently Arkansas CB coach
Actually no longer employed by Arky. Seems to have some mutual CU follows. And his header pick has a son/grandson? With a Broncos hat. So some random connection to Colorado :). I wonder if they bring him in and give Martin RC.

I actually think the defense could be pretty good next year with these hires.

The offense is going to be absolute butthole, though.

Not complete butthole....

Got my buff-colored glasses on here, although we have lost some players and coaches, Jay Johnson sucked. I believe Chev and Dorrell can generate more gameday success than Johnson(GTFOH). Also, we have got some solid pieces returning.

Offense Depth Chart

QB - Lytle and Lewis (can Lytle or Lewis have a better 2020 than the former Montez?)
RBs - Fontenot and Mang (plus the addition of Clayton)
TE - Russell
LT - Fillip or Ray (Hambright will be missed)
LG - Kutsch
OC - Jynes or Lee (Lynott will be missed)
RG - Roddick
RT - Sherman
WR - Stanley (obviously losing Viska and Brown hurts)
WR - Nixon

Purcell at center thank god

Looks pretty rough with an inexperienced OC.

If we get him, it's the best initial defensive staff I can remember since following CU. I'm not sold on Summers as a coordinator yet, but him and the other 4 as position coaches and recruiters would be exceptionally strong.

Technically Chev has experience, couple that with Dorrell's experience and the offensive playcalling should be better than Johnson.

I am feeling a bit rosy, but "absolute butthole" is not the sentiment I share.

Dorrell has called plays one season in the last 20 right?

Fauria for Russell.

I am struggling with the thought of a new play caller/OC, new OL coach, new QB, new QB coach

help me get positive about this.

I’m starting to get the impression that many of the offensive coaches are placeholders until Dorrell can find adequate replacements. Giving guys a chance to show something in a one year audition and then replace them if they don’t show some promise.

I'm sure every coach will have a multi year deal. Chevs will be 3 years. Dont think this idea will hold up
