2022 Transfer Portal

Just for curiosity's sake, the portal has cost CU 19% of its scoring output, 31% of its reception yards and 50% of its rushing yards, in return for a QB from UH who did not play last year.

On defense 55% of the INT's, 63% of the sacks and 34% of the tackles.

I don't know how you replace that. The above are just guys leaving before eligibility is up.

In the last three days we've lost Ray, Broussard, and Lang. Does anyone think Lang will be the last? Who goes next?

Holy ****.

For those who are preaching patience (I know there aren't many) who would need to transfer for you to be concerned?

Because at the beginning of the offseason, I had pretty much Rice and Gonzalez on my "this is a bad sign" list. Perry and Blackmon had me even more concerned. Broussard and Lang leaving was so far beyond what I had on my radar that I don't think I can fathom how bad things are inside the program now.

Just think about this: CU was bad enough to lose 8 games last year. 12 starters are gone either through graduating/retiring or transfer portal. This isn't attrition from the bottom end of the roster.
Would be worried if KDs recruits left, which isn’t the case.

From a couple players when I asked just now what's going on. One current player, one former (former as in just played here this last season and is now gone).

I asked what's the reasoning behind this and here was the response.

"Players don't like Dorrell and the program doesn't give us what we need as athletes."

Asked to expound on what they don't give.

"They neglect injured players if you aren't a major contributor, we see the guys Dorrell is recruiting and they are trash. A lot of us (defensive players) don't like Coach Wilson either.”

Sounds pretty spot on if I were guessing the situation.

I find this hard to believe. BigBang has told us the players and families like KD

No I think there's too much pride in CU admin to not fire KD next fall. I know they largely don't care about winning, but they certainly don't want the program embarrassing the university.
This. Not even CU can keep a coach who goes 0-12 (or 1-11). Things will get ugly fast next September when we start 0-4.

LOL at anyone thinking we can get good players from the portal. There are several issues working against us. First and most obvious, is that you can’t just log into the portal and pick your team. It requires recruiting still and we’ve shown we be ****ing**** at that. Second, even if we could recruit, we’d have to explain why many of our best players and starters are transferring out. This ties into the first issue too. We can’t even recruit guys who are literally on our team and already playing. Prove me if I’m wrong, but starters aren’t common transfer candidates. It’s usually people looking for more playing time, or maybe homesick and other reasons, but being a starter is typically huge upside to stay. Giant red flag for anyone in the portal who hears from us. I have a hard time thinking of ANY D1 school who looks like a worse place to land than here.

I honestly am getting a lot of joy when thinking about not having to buy tickets for next season or plan my fall around the program. Only game I’m going to is @Minnesota with @sweaty teets and @Darth Snow . It’s probably the only game I’ll even watch. Wheels are off. Driver is dead. CD player doesn’t work.

I think I can help clear this up, Bru McCoy had Domestic charges brought against him. Jarek Broussard, to my knowledge, has nothing like that pending, pretty good dude from most of what I've heard.
Thank you. Yeah, my impression of Jarek has always been that he seems like a great dude, so it kind of surprised me to hear that.
Glad it’s not the case.

WSU paying up for NIL (their fanbase is, not the school). They have rabid and loyal fans, unlike CU. Top QB available?
