Was it me or was that guy a man among boys last night? He ran with some serious authority and power. Good thing they didn't use them more as he seemed to run at will against us and it took 4 guys to tackle. Good thing he's a senior.

Oh, and he's from Miami.

Dude looked like a beast on TV. He looked like he was night of the living dead once he took his helmet off. Yikes.

i think it is for a very good reason they call him the predator. POWERFUL.

Where the heck has he been the last three years? Kyle Bell isn't good enough to keep him on the bench. Was he a JUCO guy or something? He definitely made an impression last night.

They were killing us by sealing the end on more than a few runs. Bell hasn't been the same since the cu game last year.

Very impressed... No offense to Bell, but if CSU wants to have any success this year, they are going to need to scheme around Johnson this season.

I'll give Johnson props for trying to resurrect the cutoff jersey of the late 80's/early 90's. No seriously, that's ****ing awesome (though admittedly it would have been even awesome-er if he were also sporting a pair of ENORMOUS Chris Hudson-esque shoulder pads).

Regardless, I hope he has some sportscenter-worthy games going forward, maybe the trend will pick up with the younger generation.

I looked up his stats and they were impressive. 12 carries for 95 yards with an avg of 7.9ypc. I'm seriously glad they did not utilize him more. That was a serious gaffe by Fairchild. Given that's guy's strength and power he could have probably carried the rock a good 30 times.

Sure seemed like heavy doses of GJ3 and Sperry would have been the best formula for a Rams victory. Not quite sure why the coaches didnt go that route.

that is hilarious, cuz when i think the of the 80s-early 90s style giant shoulder pads...i think of chris hudson. weird.

He was really good. I kept wondering how he ended up at Goat State of all places, seems like he has the size and talent to play in a higher-profile program.

Lets be honest here tho, this was really a breakout game for him. Up until this year he has lacked any real explosion. Hopefully this is due to a great offseason of training and he will have a big year.

I hope so, as well.

You being a CSU fan what do you think of fullback #36 Zac Pauga? Just want an outside opinion, because mine's biased seeing how I played with him in hs..

I was impressed, especially with him making catches out of the backfield. I didnt expect that, was he a TE in high school?

He was a DE/FB, much better as a DE, good motor, good athlete, being a CB/RB I got hit by him a good amount of times and it was not fun.

He was killing us. Why did the Goats keep him on the bench down the stretch? I guess they did fall behind and need to pass more, so maybe he's not good at picking up blitzes or something. But, the way he was running, get him the ball in the open field and we were getting hammered. Glad he was a no-factor in the 2nd half.

When the mid drift look appeared on the tube last night, I'm thinking to myself RalphieMalph must be man-crushing.

Sho' Nuff!

Got to admit, he was amazing. I can see him playing on Sundays more often.

If Sonny had him last year, and he had that kind of skill and didnt see the field, than Sonny had his head up his ass.

He looks like Steven Jackson.

My dad said the same thing. If he plays like that all year he can skip the Combine and still be a first or second round pick. The guy was a stud.

I'd agree. Take a page from Osborne and the Huskers. Find something that worked like that and use it on your opponent the entire game. I'd have used GJ, Bell, and Sperry the entire game only throwing the ball when I had to. Johnson would be a beast in goal line situations. A guy like that lets you dictate the game.

the closest he looked to SJackson was his dreads. Let's not get carried away here. He had a good day. But he's not going to be drafted in the 1st or 2nd round.

Shiat. Sonny did have his head up his ass; the kid was a FB last year.

With open field moves like that and running authority thats not a fullback.

Not so fast Miami. There was a reason that he had the nickname GJ2.3, and that was because in his previous attempts at RB he would get 2.3 yards a carry, no more. Trust me, there was a ton of hype over the guy when he came in, but things havent really materialized until this game. Hopefully he can have a huge year and get drafted.

Some kids need time to emerge. If he was that good then he would've played. Sonny isn't that dumb.

I was and am a big Sonny supporter. But this kind of jumps out at me.

Despite not starting and playing mostly fullback over the season's first five games, finished sixth in the conference by averaging 79.8 rushing yards per contest...Received honorable mention all-conference recognition...Played in all 12 games, starting seven, and carried 181 times for 957 yards (5.3 avg.) with six TDs...Also caught 12 passes for 103 yards and a pair of TDs...Regarded by coaches even before he became a starter as the inspirational leader of the offense and one of the toughest players on the team...Averaged 126.1 yards per contest as a starter (conference leader Chad Hall, MWC Offensive Player of the Year, averaged 117.9)

I think its more of a case of him fitting into Sonny's offense better as a FB.

Eh. You could be right. I just don't think he really emerged until this season. Jmho. Like Lammiefusker said. GJ2.3

Tru. If he plays like that the rest of the year then we shall know. It wouldn't be the first time a coach under utilized a player. Think Terrell Davis when he was at Georgia.
