Greetings, Buff fans, from www.cuatthegame.com

Well, the 39-21 loss to Florida State was certainly not what we were looking for. Missed opportunities, turnovers, and poor special teams play doomed the Buffs to a loss in a game which many thought they would win.

Where to go from here? In addition to the recap of yesterday’s game, I have taken the liberty of laying out the Buffs’ Big 12 schedule for you, looking at each opponent and how those games look now that the non-conference season is over. What’s tough is that the Buffs could be 3-3 in a few weeks, and still be a pretty good team. The must wins, and more probable wins, come down the road.

Keep the faith, Buff fans. It may be a rocky road October, but the following month promises to be a November to remember!

Go Buffs!

I think we all got a little greedy. 4-0 would've been great. But 3-1 is awesome heading into conference play. I hope Cody can regroup himself and play like I know he can. Same with the OL.

Back in spring ball I thought we'd be 3-1, so even though I'm still fuming about letting a winnable game slip away, I think we need to regain some perspective about a team with so many key performers that are underclassmen.

Yeah, but the 1, we figured was WVU... I don't think all the grumbling is about losing, but how ugly it looked. Lack of emotion, inability to move the ball, inability to convert on 3rd down, poor tackling all over the place... Not so much the loss, but how ugly it was...

I'm with you on that. Right now I have to vote no confidence in the offense. Speedy is awesome but he can't carry the whole offense. J-Fly is blazing fast but he'll get double teamed eventually and then who will CH throw incompletes to? I've defended CH a number of times against the typical snide comments about his size and being the coach's son but yesterday I really lost faith in his ability to play the position. I realize that Ballenger is probably not prepared to be a better option but shouldn't he get a look? Cody is just off somehow and maybe competion is what he needs.

Whatever could go wrong, went wrong yesterday. It seemed like everything went against us.

That's funny, because everything went our way for the last couple of games against some inferior competition and a one dimensional overrated team.

CU better hit the video room.

Where was Scotty McKnight yesterday? 1 catch for 0 yards? What is that?

I also can't save it for another day, we need a new punt/pick returner... J-Fly cannot hold on to the ball and if you look for a defining moment in yesterday's game that completely changed the course of the game was his fumble on the 2 yard line on the kick return that resulted in a safety, and another 3 points all after a td resulting in 12 points in 2 minutes. It's also not the first time he's had butter fingers on kick returns.

I agree. We won't get away with these preformances in conference play.

CU has proven that they can make adjustments. After the EWU game, the buffs needed to adjust their run game. The next game they run for almost 200 yards. This week the buffs need to look at their passing game and seriously consider dumping the spread

Completely changing your offense isn't an adjustment. I agree there should be less spread offense used...but to completely abandon it in one week before you play a top 5 team would be terrible.

I remember WR's being wide open. I don't think it was the gameplan. It was the execution out there.

Texas - loss,mcoy too good

Kansas-loss reesing will do enough

K-state- win, prince is 2-0 vs hawk, better win this one.

Mizzou- loss

texas a&m- win struggled to beat my boys from army.

Iowa state- win I want a crushing 56-0 win here.

Oklahoma state- toss up

Nebraska- tossup

Cu goes 1-1 vs okies and fuskers

pretty much agreed on that.. Only thing I'll say is if we can survive the next 4, the last 4 games of the seasons are all very winnable..

:iagree:

considering the other side of the ledge is a crevice, i am disposed to think of it as a one way deal.

whats up witht he two way ledge navigation, monkey?
Oh just throwing up there that advice on what to do on the ledge might not translate as intended to those on the ledge.

I don't know. It's hard to bench a kid with Smith's ability on KR's. He's a threat for 6 everytime he touches it.

I agree, but if he fumbles another kick, I'd be inclined to bench him. He's got to secure the damn ball.

 He's gone from awesome, to goat in a matter of a couple weeks. I think Hawk will stick with Smith. He's our best return guy.

Yes he is but, since the EW, he hasn't done much.He has put cu in the hole a few times with his fumbling of the kickoff or cathing the punts inside the 10.

He's been our best wr by far the last 2 games for sure. He'll come around on the kick returns.

Go Buffs!

Good post. I thought before the season we stood a good chance at winning 2 out of the 3 of WVU, FSU and UT. That goal is still there, but I will admit, Texas has impressed me. I thought they would severely underachieve this year. I still say 7-8 wins and I am excited about being 3-1!

Yea, good points on both accounts. Not only that, but I think most of us probably figured that 3-1 at this point would be great, considering a split against FSU and WV is something we'd all be happy with. Besides, imagine the frustration we'd have now if we had ended up losing that WV game? It'd be serious :bang: for us right now!

Before the season, I predicted that we would at best go 2 out of 3 in the WVU/FSU/UT run. I also said that we had to go at least 1 out of 3 in order to keep the season manageable. I thought 1/3 was very likely. I am still hoping for 2/3. If our extreeeeemly young Oline can handle the UT front, anything is possible!

Agreed - imagine the :bang: we'd be doing if Eastern Washington hadn't turned out the way it did.

Still can't believe that we are facing Texas with one senior and four first year lineman. They will have to play out of their minds to keep Cody's uniform clean.

I'm not 100% sure J-Fly is our best returner. Ya he has made some plays but has nearly been non-existant the last two games except for his fumbles. Yes, he is a threat everytime but he has made more mistakes than good plays imo. Let's try someone else out there and see what they can do:thumbsup:
