Yah... that's inexcuasable. Wow. Initially I thought he speared him in the groin too... looks like he turned to the side at the last second. No doubt he should've been given a red card (wait... wrong sport?). Insane... I hope R. Prince made him run gassers at 3AM till he yak'd.

Too bad they didn't show Prince's reaction. He stood there and watched as if it were business as usual. No visible reaction whatsoever that I could see, and he was standing right in front of me. He didn't even yell at #81 as he came off the field.

I am suprised he played the rest of the game. If played I for the buffs can I say head hunting?

Now that is how you support you player by what Hawk did. Many coaches unfortunetly just stand there.

You sit in the west end right? I was suprised you guys didn't start throwing stuff at the KSU bench. That was the most animated I've seen the west enders since the Miami game in '93.

Yep, we're in 108, at about the 10-15 yard line, so it all happened right in front of me. Prince just kind of sauntered out a few steps on the field, stood there with his arms crossed for a few seconds, then sauntered back to the sideline.

It was about the most fired up I've been at a game in a long time and RP's lack of any reaction (as though he knew it was coming) REALLY pissed me off.

Matter of fact he even patted him on the helmet. No yell, no words, just a pat as he went by.

I hope (I know) Hawk would have probably benched our guy for the game had he done that.

Too bad they can't do anything retroactively. They fine people in the NFL, why can't they suspend people in the NCAA. I think the most you might get is the Big 12 officials may review the tape and say that he should have been kicked out the game and a apology. Ask Oklahoma how well those apologies go over.

Sometimes those folks need a little caffeine in their geritol.

I hate to think what would have happened if the refs hadn't of thrown a flag.

I totally lost it on that play. I stood on the bench and was screaming "TOSS THE MOTHER****ER!" over and over. felt kind of bad for swearing with some kid behind me, but I have not been so pissed at an opposing player since the '93 CU-Miami brawl.

Nice I was at 109 at the 5 yared line. 2 rows up. It was awful and everybody was screaming at the fool. I hated how he celebrated afterwords too.

 Takes a lot to get them going, but the west enders scared the piss out of Miami back then. The KSU players didn't look too comfortable after the hit on Smith.

I still dont understand why he still played I would have cheap shotted him or lit him up myself as a player.

Should he have hit him low like that in the knees? Absolutely not. However I think there is a possibility that he was just trying to time the hit. You can see Josh is making a move like he is going to catch the ball. So I do think he was just trying to time it for a big hit. That doesn't however excuse the low blow.

Josh waved for the fair catch (I think the only time he has ever done that) so no matter what type of hit, it should be 15 yd penalty, but with that type of cheat shot he should have been tossed.

I didn't see him call for a fair catch. Not saying he didn't. Just didn't see it.

To his credit, Josh played that punt perfect: he lined up at the 5, and when he saw it was going over his head, he waived for a fair catch, moved forward and faked the catch. The reason for faking the catch is so the gunner will slow down in front of returner to try to distract him instead of trying to down the punt deep in return team's territory.

He definitely signaled for the fair catch. That is what makes the hit so reprehensible. The kid should be suspended for the remainder of the season.

Ron Prince = Dennis Erickson

ASU pulled off cheap hits on CU's KR, too.

15 yard personal foul is simply inadequate. I bet the B12 officials have a memo to that effect. This clip should be making the rounds amongst the officiating team.

Hope Josh is okay.

i dont think he fair catched. Im a newb when it comes to college football, but i thought he was just trying to freaking nail Josh. It reminded me of the xfl. i was suprised we got the 15 yards.

He did fair catch. I remember it distinctly because I always cringe in fear when he doesn't do it, but this time he did and I relaxed and then BAM!
