As we start to think about which Buff(s) will be drafted this summer (Hypolite), my trivia question is:

Who was the first Buff to enter the draft early (prior to graduating) and be drafted?

Please answer in format of Name, NFL Team, Draft Round, Year.

Leonard Renfro
Philly Iggles??
3rd round?????????????????????? (make that first)
1996?????? er, I mean 1993...

Rep to SkiTown, first to get it right (albeit over two posts)

Leonard Renfro was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1st Round (pick 24) of the 1993 draft, making him the first Buff to leave school early and get drafted. He left after his junior year and played a total of 23 games for the Eagles, never recorded a sack, and was eventually released. He never played for another NFL team. Renfro is remembered in effigy in Philly for being a huge bust (they got the pick from Green Bay for Reggie White). I don't care what Eagles fans say: at the time, it was a good pick, because Renfro was a complete monster in college.

Its just the same with getting excited about a recruiting class. Some pan out, some don't.
