as their QB coach. :wow: :wow:. Did he really have no other offer? Or did he just want to live in socal? Anyone have the skinny on this?

Personally I wish that CU would have given him a shot if he was willing to take the step down to the college level as a position coach...

I don't know, the track record seems to be 2 years as QB coach, 2 years as OC and then HC gig in the NFL or BCS school. Doesn't sound too bad to me.

I think this is going to work just fine for him, as Dave Logan said yesterday "USC has more talent then some NFL teams"

Isn't it "assistant head coach of the offense and quarterbacks coach".

Same position that Lane Kiffin (now Tennessee head coach) and Steve Sarkisian (now Washington head coach) held recently.

I think that is a very smart move on his part if he wants be a head coach someday. $300,000 plus his Broncos buyout means he'll be OK financially.

He now has worked under Jon Gruden, Mike Shanahan, Pete Carroll, and of course is the son of Jim Bates.

Sounds like a great move and another solid notch on his resume.

didn't know that he was assitant HC. makes sense now.

It would make sense anyway, I would rather be qb coach for a stable program like USC than qb coach for a first year head coach in the pros when you aren't his guy. He could have always gotten back into the pros later (like when shanny gets another gig).
