1. Walking down the tunnels at Invesco after beating the lammies chanting the fight song and saying, "It sucks to be a CSU Ram" right in their faces. Ah great feeling. Never been to a Husker game, I hope it feels just as good.

2. I jokingly told a friend (OU fan) prior to the 07 CU, OU game we would beat them. He was going and told me I was full of shi*. We beat OU, and he comes to school on Monday pissed. I sat in silence and didn't say anything. GOAT

3. After the 08 ISU game when the players come over to sing the fight song. During the middle of the song I looked over towards the end of the student section by the band and saw a guy by himself singing his heart out. I just thought it was cool to see a guy at the end of the student section (late arriving fans, maybe not a die-hard) so proud of his Buffs.

4. This year's Spring Game. After a long offseason I walked into the Balch Fieldhouse and see tons of Buff fans like me in there. It made my hair stand up on my neck.

5. Wearing CU stuff in Lincoln

Ha mine are pretty weird. What are yours?:gobuffs:

well here they are......

1. watching the look on my girls faces when the band marches in, and when ralphie takes the field with the team......

2. being at the blow out win over NU and watching all the NU fans walk out of Folsom field knowing that "no bowl game this, and a LONG drive back to Lincoln"......GO BUFFS!!!!!

3.......and just knowing that my family and I are true BUFF fans........GO BUFFS!!!!!

During the 50s, CU used the quick kick quite often--usually to great advantage.

We were playing OU and they were highly ranked and good. We had them pushed back close to the goal line. They tried to turn the tables on us and quick kick. We block it.

As I remember we still lost unfortunately.

there have been so many great Buff moments for me!

here is one...

my then-gf (now wife) and i walking to folsom the morning of gameday... we run into Coach Mac (and he didn't know us at all) and he gave us like a 5 minute pep talk on why CU was going to win that day. i don't know why he stopped to do it or whatever, but it was pretty cool. he was so freaking inspirational.

Well........was he right?

1. Growing up during the wonder years (early 90s) and watching the games we didn't have tickets to with my Dad and loving that I was raised a Buff fan. When I was really little and the game was in hand or over my Dad would take a nap in the recliner chair with me napping on his chest. Mom had a good time taking pics of us.

2. One very clear memory of my childhood was a huge watch party we had at my house for the Michigan game in '94 and after "The Catch" a bunch of us kids were out at the park across the street from my house re-enacting the play over and over.

3. My Dad and I were at the Iowa State game when Salaam broke away to pass the 2,000 yard mark and the whole stadium going crazy and shaking.

4. Going to games with my Grandparents who were season ticket holders for over 50 years. Sadly they had to stop holding because my Grandpa's health won't let him make it to the games anymore.

5. Not a specific moment, but it is a great feeling to know that even when there are hard times for the Buffs, I and many others will always be die hard fans who will defend the program until death.

my proudest moment is when i paid the small yet voluntary fee to help matt keep the site up to our standards.....

1) 62-36 awsome game watching the corn cry
2) Michigan Hail Mary watching the game in Vail surrounded by Mich fans.
3) CU v Miami fight. I had 50 yrd line seats. Westbrook kung fu fighting in the end zone.
4) CU v UCLA several years back. CU had a great crowd for a road game. Team came to the stands after the game and sang the fight song.

My proudest moment was in 2002 when I went to my first CU road game which happened to be in Lincoln. I traveled with my best friend and his family, who are broken up into both CU and NU fans. I remember going into that stadium and knowing I was a pilgrim in an evil land. Most of the folks were nice, but they had the attitude of "you don't really think you guys are gonna beat us."

3rd quarter they took a 13-7 lead after CU fumbled just after the opening kick off and the place was going nuts. Then they kicked deep and pinned us really deep in our own territory. I know it was over 80 yards to the endzone. The offense then proceeded to do what they did best, which was ram the ball straight down Nebraska's throat. It was a really long, sustained drive that is probably the most beautiful I've ever seen. We scored the TD, took the lead 14-13, and the rout was on! I loved every minute of my night in Lincoln that night and made sure to buy all the local papers in the morning for the drive home, it was priceless.

"Proudest moment"? I have to go back to the '86 Nebraska game.

Seven years in Boulder (save the jokes, we're talking undergrad and law school), and '86 was my last football season in the student section. One winning record (7-5 in 1985). There were two 1-10 seasons, 82-42, the '80 loss to Drake (wasn't there for the '79 loss to Drake), Chuck Fairbanks' office in Sports Illustrated, baby blue uniforms - and a number of lopsided losses to Nebraska.

20-10 changed everything. The 2-4 Buffs conquered undefeated and #3 Nebraska. That game was the turning point that made all which has been good over the past quarter century possible.

There have been plenty of exciting moments - NC, Salaam, "Hail Mary", 62-36, 65-51 - but none have made me more proud to be a loyal Buff fan than to be in the student section for 20-10.

Go Buffs!

I'd like to throw in reading names of 3 Nobel prizewinners in Physics on a sign across from Folsom Field.

GO BUFFS!

The day my son was accepted to the University of Colorado. Will become the 1st in the family to get a college education and he picked the best school in the country to get that education.

Winner!

CU-Michigan 1994

I was a freshman at the University of Vermont, even though I was a Buff fan since an early age. The east coast audience got the ABC game of Miami vs. (someone), and I had to watch that entire boring Big East game with a dorm full of east coast guys just so I could get updates of the CU game. At the end, the Miami game was playing out the final string, and the whole dorm of guys wanted the channel changed. Knowing I would miss the update of the final score of the CU game, I guarded the TV while about 25 guys (who wouldn't/couldn't understand) groaned and heckled. When John Saunders broke into the Miami game with "Brent, you're not going to believe what just happened in Ann Arbor" and the replay of The Catch ensued, I went completely berserk, and the jerks who wanted to change the channel actually realized the importance of The Catch. Needless to say, Vermont was cold and dreary and I was enrolled in Boulder the next fall.

CU - Illinois in '89. I was on the cheer squad that year so I was on the field during the game. In the second quarter when the Illioni were in the red zone driving into the horseshoe (and the student section) it was so loud on the field it was impossible to hear anything except the roar of the crowd. I was standing less that a foot from my partner shouting as loud as I could directly into her ear and she couldn't hear me. It was unbelievable. I still get goose bumps thinking about how incredibly pumped up the crowd was that day. Oh, and of course..."George is a pussy, George is a pussy...." The Illioni came in ranked and media hyped and we smacked their asses like a 4 year old at Kmart!

Dec 1st 2002. Big 12 Championship. Driving into Texas Stadium the horns fans were booing us, yelling at us and continually chanting "41 to 7" (the score they had beaten us by earlier in the year. We remained very very quiet since there were 3 of us in my party and only about 300 CU fans there. Neutral site my musty nutts.

Well after we made Simms look like a dickhead and Applewhite saved what little remained of their dignity final score of 39 to 37 CU.

We walked into the concourse of Texas stadium as the horns fans walked past. Stood right in the middle of everything and lit up 3 of the biggest Winston Churchill stogies you have ever seen and grinned at the passersby.

We still didn't say too much, we were still in Texas man, you wouldn't have either.

1. CU/Michigan-1994. AVBuff and I were sitting in the endzone about 20-25 yards from where MW caught the ball. I saw it get tipped up in the air, saw MW jump up and get his hands on the ball and was screaming my head off before he even hit the ground. I have a tape of the game and am shown right at the end of the broadcast celebrating around a CU flag some AVBuff acquaintances had brought to the game. As Keith Jackson said, "INCREDIBLE".
2. CU-CSWho-1995 or 1996 in Fort Collins. This time AVBuff and I decided it would be a "good idea" to sit in the CSWho student section as we were blowing them out in a night game. Proud of the fact that we stayed 20 minutes or so and didn't get our asses kicked.
3. CU-kNu-1990 in Lincoln. I wasn't there, but hearing the CU fans singing "We don't live in Lincoln" must have been the sh!t.

2005 me and my buddy had field passes and we got to watch the Nebraska game with my favorite all time Buff Darian Hagan. We got smoked but Hagan was really cool to us.

1) In 1986, i was in junior high, the CU-NU game was on the radio and I was at my friends house listening to it. I can remember how excited my friend's dad was listening, he just kept ringing his hands. When Jeff Campbell broke the reverse and the announcers were going off in high pitched voices we started jumping up and down, my friends father accidentally jumped on their dog and broke its leg and he made his wife take the dog to the vet.

2) It isn't really a moment but my parents are transplants from Iowa, almost every summer we would drive from Colorado to Iowa. My dad would always stop in Julesburg, fill up and tell us all to use the bathroom. He would never stop in Nebraska, he told me the place wasn't worth his money.

3) This is a joke, I hate to admit it, but a good friend of mine is a hugh nub fan, the ****er isn't even from there. The guy is pathetic, he donates money so that an AM station in Denver will broadcast the nub games. Anyway, in 2000 I took a trip to Iowa, on my way back I stopped in Lincoln and bought some paper with nub U. letterhead on it. On the paper I wrote a letter to my friend thanking him for supporting nub athletics, being a part of the nub family, blah, blah, blah and signed it Frank Solich at the end. Put it in the mail and mailed it to him from Lincoln. When i got back I called him to see how he was doing and he was all excited about this letter he had gotten and bragging about it, it was great. Finally a couple of weeks later after I couldn't handle anymore of his **** about getting a letter from little frankie I let the cat out of the bag, it was great.

Dropping my son off in 2000 at Dal Ward and stepping onto the football field realizing he was going to have a chance to don the black and gold in the best stadium in the country  after that thinking about 62-36 gives me goosebumps to this day. **** the red

Graduating in 1996 with my wife, eldest son & parents all in attendance.

Puking all over the fields around Arnett Hall for a year.... does that count??

:smile2:

I don't know about my top 5.

One was 2003. Beating CSU at Mile High, and feeling the stadium shake as the CU fans chanted 'It Sucks to be a CSU Ram'.

My proudest moment was walking on the the CU cross country and track teams during sophmore year. Olympic medalists Frank Shorter, Rob DeCastilla from Australia and Rosa Mota from Portugal asked to do laps with the track team. It was awsome being able to beat them on the quarter miles. They joined us on some distance runs, too, in which they kicked my ass. It was as close to the Olympics as I ever got.

Similarly, we were doing mile repetitions. I was proud to have finished 4 of 6 under 5 minutes. Sure wish I were in such good shape now.

I'm proud to have graduated in 4 years, three in Boulder, junior year abroad.

The Presidents Leadership Class was a solid experience. My senior year I was a Class Advisor and got to lead a weekly recitation made up of freshmen. They even let me design a good chunk of the curriculum.

The 1990 NU Roadtrip was epic. Being a loyal fan during the mNC campaign was just lucky. I'm proud to have been so lucky.

The day my son was accepted to the University of Colorado. Will become the 1st in the family to get a college education and he picked the best school in the country to get that education.

Thanks Dad!

1. Getting accepted into CU and knowing that for 4 years I have a seat in one of the best stadiums to watch the team that I grew up watching while earning a first class education
2. Freshman year- Upset over OU. Sophomore year- Upset over WVU lets keep the trend going
3. The atmosphere of a Saturday morning/afternoon in Folsom. The FSU game 2 years ago was electric!! Same for WVU

Winner!

:yeahthat:

For me, everyday something different makes me proud to be a buff. However, the best has to be after the OU game two years ago. The Hill was going nuts, people were dancing on chairs and tables at the pit (formerly la iguana), I don't think I was ever happier than after that game.

Getting pepper sprayed for trying to carry a goal post out of the stadium after 62-36 in 2001.

I call BS.... the last pepper spray incident happened in the stadium against A & M in 1995.

I was on the field in 2001 against NU and the goal posts were down by the crew before the game ended.

1) 62-36 (should have been 69 or 70)
2) Running onto the field in Ann Arbor and getting arrested after the hail mary,
3) Winning in Lincoln in 2002 after going there every other year from 1992 on.

I'll throw out the 1st BBall moment from the 2002/2003 Season:

- Stephone Pelle banks in the game winner to beat #6 Kansas for the first time in 12 years I think. Even with the typical 1/2 CU & 1/2 KU crowd, Coors Events Center was loudest I can remember that night.

- 1 week later, we play #3 Texas at home and I got there 2 hours early to sit front row when the student section was directly accross the Texas bench. We are taking it to Texas and we start up the "overrated" chant, and I will always remember the looks on TJ Ford & Royal Ivey's faces as they stared accross from me dejected as anyone I've ever seen look while me and my friends went nuts chanting "OVERRATED"!

- A quirky one....I got to clean Ralphie IV's pen at his "secret" location where he lives when not on Campus (my roommate was a Ralphie Handler)....man was that cool. I can always say that I made Ralphie's day be giving her some oats, boy was she excited for them oats!

Where is that negative rep button?

1. Sitting in Sec 114 watching Chris Brown shred the Butthuskers for 6 TD's
2. I think it was 1990 and KSU had us down by 4 with about 3.5 minutes remaining in a game. I was standing in the N/W corner by the endzone. And watched Kordell lead the Buffs 80 yds down the field with a TD pass to Carruth (caught the pass right in front of me)to win the game with about a minute left. To see there fans go from agony to defeat, was something to behold. Not to mention the TD catch.
3. Beating Texass for the 1st Big 12 Championship!!!
4. After reading Alfreds post, I have to add watching my wife and son graduate from the school of Med & Pharmacy.

GO BUFFS!

One of my proudest CU memories is a combination of your posts.

When my firstborn came home after his freshman year at a private university and announced he wanted to transfer to CU because he wasn't being challenged where he was. I was so secretly thrilled that he came to the conclusion on his own that CU was a better school, and he was going to go to MY school after that "wasted" and expensive year elsewhere.

And he is majoring in physics at CU now, thriving academically, no complaints. He may not play sports for CU, but I have a feeling he'll make alumni proud in other ways, eventually. He has big plans. :smile2:
