Texas LB Kindle's concussion

As the former unofficial and self-proclaimed 40 Acres bureau chief here at AllBuffs, I thought it would be responsible journalism to pass this story along.

Texas Sr. LB Sergio Kindle suffered a concussion when his car ran into an apartment wall near the UT campus just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. Kindle says he was texting someone, got distracted and the car did its thing. Of note is Kindle's claim that after the accident, he pushed his car back onto the street... and left.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I'll let investigators do their investigating, but let me throw out there for those who don't remember that this scene-fleeing gent had a DUI arrest two years ago. There's no way to prove his drinking this time outside of a confession, so what do you think Mack should/will do?

The story

I'm texting a can of Coors right now myself...from the safety of my sofa.

The guy is lucky he didn't die if he had a concussion and went to sleep immediately after it. Idot.

That's another point. Aside from the various conjectures as to why he had the accident or why he left, the fact that a preseason all-American went Princess Diana and then headed home to sleep it off is a huge no-no. Could have gotten life's indefinite suspension.

supposedly thats a myth.

No, not really. A head injury can create a pool of blood, internal bleeding, such as a subdermal hematoma, and it can kill you. There was a sad tale of a young girl who was hit with a hockey puck a few years back, had a bump, but seemed fine and sudenly died the next day.

The right bump on the head can kill you. Whether or not you go to sleep, but obviously, if you are awake, the people around you may notice changes (incoherent speech, a look in your eyes, balance) that could prompt them to get help.

Natasha Richardson died back in March following a head injury on the ski slopes.
Epidural hemotoma. Similar deal. She joked it off after the fall. It didn't turn out well.

Billy Mays had a piece of luggage fall on his head on a flight. He shook it off and was dead within 24 hours.

Bumps to the head are not to be shrugged off as immaterial.

While I agree with you that you shouldn't shrug off a bump to the head, they released today that he died of heart disease.

"The autopsy conducted Monday morning revealed Mays suffered from hypertensive heart disease," Adams said. "It's not uncommon to have a sudden death with this kind of disease... No evidence of exterior or interior head trauma was found during Mays' autopsy"

He's dead and Vince from ShamWow! isn't going to be on tv anytime soon. Bummer.

Yes, nebraska television recently lost two of its tried and true celebrities, leaving the average husker to wonder what to watch on those late nights while the meth boils in the basement.

On the bright side, Big Bird hasn't beaten up any prostitutes lately, and you can finally get those numbers down with The Count.

Reminds me of NU and that Tetafiller who got into enough trouble to warrant being dismissed but good ol' Bo kept him there. I wonder if Mack does the same thing to Kindle?
