I know we are all excited about camp opening up in under a month, but what is everyone NOT looking forward to during the season. Here are 3 for me:
1. The constant talk of “ who’s the better QB; Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, or Tim Tebow”
2. Herbstreet constantly talking about how the Big 10(11) has really improved this year. I’m sure at some point he will say it is the best in college football, or say they are at least the second best. His annoyance fact will increase x10 IF Ohio State beats USC.
3. Having Thanksgiving with my sister’s father in-law (who is an NU fan) and having him tell me the how awful CU fans are. He will then proceed to tell me the story of the bottle (or at least this year’s exaggerated version). When I first met him he told me about how a fan threw a bottle on the field at some point during the 1986 game (He attended and loves to call it the NU game at Folsom). A couple years later the story changed to the bottle was thrown at a player on the field. A few years later the bottle landed on the NU sideline almost hitting a coach. Most recently the bottle has changed direction in mid air and landed in the NU fan section hitting a woman in the head. I think this year the story might be ‘when I was at the NU game up at Folsom in ’86, a CU fan just came up and smashed a bottle over a pregnant Lady’s head, only because she was wearing a Husker sweat shirt. I tell you those CU fans have no class.’ Either that or the bottle will fly through the air and hit a 6 year old in the head. Each year I have a bet with my wife as to how long it takes him to tell the story after I arrive.
