Riar Geer on Mackey Watch List

Pretty surprised actually. Hope we make the TEs a part of the passing game again.

I think Geer and Deehan can have really good seasons in 2009.

The TE's have to be an integral part of the O this year to have success.

Yep. I think it will be the main factor in the offense improving upon last season. We rarely attacked the middle of the field last year and it really hindered the offensive production.

I read that Hawkins took Riar to Dallass for the B12 media day, showed them around the new stadium to get them pumped up about the season. I guess that's where the Buffs will be playing for the B12 championship.

Love that experience at TE with Geer and Devenny. Use 'em or lose 'em. And you know Deehan's gonna get some throws his way. Big position this year.

Agreed, but it seemed like we had some tipped balls going over the middle. Hopefully that gets fixed, but I'm not expecting anything short and over the middle. However, I still am a fan of the waggle play - it has other names, but I'm referring to the roll-out with the TE. If Hansen gets the nod, his running could set up these plays well.

The tipped balls are definitely a concern. I think you're right, we'll see more intermediate routes with the TEs than short routes.

Also agree on the waggle. We have had success with that at times during Hawk's tenure. I'm thinking of the Georgia game in 2006 specifically. Geer had a big game that day.

Or the games we almost win. Geer v. NU got me out of my seat faster than any 2008 Buff moment.
