Husker RB Quentin Castille kicked off team

Bo Pelini shows some character here. Things are changing for the better in Lincoln when police blotter doesn't preceed a player getting kicked off the team for VOTR.

Why is this such big news? I don't remember him ever doing anything against CU, so what's the big deal.. The other kid whose name started with a H is who ripped us up last year.

Quite honestly, I've never really noticed him on the field when I've seen the Huskers..

It just shows how much you love us:smile:
This won't happen very often at all, because I hate Nebraska, but Bo Pelini is a solid no bull $hit guy, and has 10 times as much character as Osborne. I posted right here 4 years ago that I thought he would be a good pick for the Colorado job. You got a good man in Bo, but I still hope you get your asses kicked.

Go back and check the box score vs Clemson in the bowl.

I liked Bo too, but felt he would not do well in the adversarial media situation he would be in here. In the football loving media environment of Nebraska, he would be much more comfortable. But I did like his attitude and defensive prowess, and wanted him as a top choice for CU. I like Hawk though-- I think he will start doing much better with all years of kids staring to understand and buy into his coaching style. It took mac a few years to get things rolling with how bad things were before him, and I don't think most casual CU fans realize how low the talent level was when Hawk came in. yes, we had been winning B12N titles, but the B12N was as bad as I have ever seen it back then.

Right on point. In fact, the last few recruiting classes were really pretty bad along with Hawk's first one. These things take time if the program's talent level is way down. Bo inherited some players. Callie could recruit, he just couldn't mold talented kids into men.

Good point. I told my cousin last night that either this season or next people will appreciate Cally for his recruiting now that NU finally has competent coaches to teach them. If Hawkins can get athletes in, he can coach them. The problem right now is just getting them to come to Boulder.

Coloradosker and others...how big a loss is Castille really? Forgive my not knowing but was he expected to get significant playtime? How is the #1 RB?

i checked out huskerboard and read his thread, they were pissed and majority agreed he was a big loss to their running game. they are looking at a true freshman being the #2 now. we've seen firsthand what a true freshman rb can and can't do.

Helu is a stud. One of the best RBs in the Big 12. But as Bob says, they now turn to Rex Burkhead (true freshman) for the backup. I think Burkhead is a really good prospect, but I'm not sure he is ready to make an impact in the running game just yet. I think his bigger impact this year will be receptions out of the backfield. Losing Castille really hurts their depth.

Admittedly, I didn't know much about Burkhead. He's a true freshman, so I'm not too worried, but then again Speedy looked very nice last year. Who knows. I did come across this video posted on a Nebbish site.

WOW! He has some moves for a white boy...but, that's just high school. VT will welcome him to college football.

I'm responding to your post exactly the same way I would to anybody else who wrote the same words (which is to say I'm not picking on you simply because I don't like you).

I'd argue that it isn't pertinent to identify Burkhead's race in this context. To say he has moves "for a white" boy suggests predisposed expectations regarding race.

Of course I'd be silly to not acknowledge that black athletes are disproportionately represented on the football field, and comprise a high percentage of the skilled positions.

However, it's my opinion that when we're able evaluate people's skills and contributions on an individual level, we'll be a society which minimizes racial stereotypes, and that much closer to realizing the American Dream.

Simply put, the dood has moves.

First, I could care less that you "don't like me."

Secondly, relax just a bit and don't take things so seriously.

The point of the my post wasn't to state that "that I don't like you". In fact, I didn't say that, I was trying to say that my response was directed at your comment, not you--that it wasn't personal.

Secondly, it's not your position to tell me what to do. I've offered my opinion to you. It may be your opinion that I need to relax, and that's fine. I offer my opinions on this board all of the time--when it relates to race or otherwise.

In this case, my opinon was that race was not relevant, and in fact counterproductive. I don't think I need to relax that opinion. Finally, I don't think many people have accused me of taking things too seriously, but again, you're welcome to your opinion.

Minus me spelling "steal" incorrectly, you haven't seen the walrus/bucket picture saga?

You be stealing my bucket, bitch.

I don't really understand the humor behind that picture, or why mania thought you would understand that reference to begin with. Do other people know what the **** it is all about? It is dumber than those ****ing "lolcats" things where the cat says, "iz eated ur hambuggers." Like, really? If a cat could talk, do you think it would say something like that? I thought cats were supposed to be smart. And who the **** eats "hambuggers" anyway? If there isn't cheese on my burger, I don't ****ing want it. *end rant*

I don't know how common the Walrus bucket thing is, but it made it to the Urban Dictionary, so it must be somewhat widespread.

However, since you're our resident Allbuffs street cred leader guy, I'd say if you didn't know about it than either would this near-40-year-old-Navy Commander from a ranch in Oregon. All things considered, it's not a particularly hip demographic.
