Ringo had a pretty good writeup this morning at Scout. It doesn't look like it's premium content.

"Wright beat several of his former mates in the secondary for long touchdown passes in practice, the last of which ended the session with Wright being mobbed by his new friends on offense."

It sounds like he's making plays. We should expect a ton of Wright interviews after practice tonight. Can't wait.

Sweet. I always wondered where AW went. I know he got dinged up with some injuries, but he was very highly touted, tall and good speed. If he can catch, he'd be natural convert to WR. I know they tried Chapelle Brown at WR, I'm not sure what happened there...

I know we have the depth at DB to make this happen, but do we really need another WR experiment starting from scratch again?

Interestingly enough, in NCAA 2009 and 2010, when you playing as the Buffs and you pull your starters out of the game, Anthony Wright sometimes plays WR (the game runs out of WRs and picks another position player to insert).

I think there's a good chance that with Wright moving to WR, Simmons getting in, and Moyd working out as a WR... that we'll see Ussery, Darden and Thornton all redshirt this year. Jefferson will play, though.

Well there you go. If it's good enough for the video game, it ought to be good enough for Hawk. (GB beating his head against a wall in background).:smile2:

Yes, we do.

My only question is why didn't this happen a LONG time ago. We've been lacking speed and athleticsm for let's see..... 8 years or so?

Maybe it had to come down to Wright giving CB a shot this fall and finally being told that he was not going to play there and would he like to consider offense once again?

that plus injured in spring + smith surprise departure + simmons late getting in.... etc. It is an emergency move for sure.

I think it may have something to do with the emergence of Olatoye. Wright would have probably would have some action in dime packages, but if Deji, Vigo or somebody else can fill in then we're not weakening our defense to bolster the O...

excellent 2d post.Great point, Didn't think of that. More rep comin your way. Stick around.

I highly, highly doubt we burn either of Vigo or Olatoye's redshirts this year. We're way to deep at DB... Olatoye is pencil thin right now anyway

perhaps. You are right if we have 0 injury. Their presence just gave the coaches enough confidence in their depth to move him. Besides, what was he, our #5 or 6 CB? good chance he wouldn't have seen the field much at all.

No need for wright, simmons is good to go....................................................

None of this can be TRUE! Article says Wright was catching "LONG PASSES"!

'Cordin' to all you "Nancies" out there, neither Cody, nor Tyler, nor Clark, nor Seth, nor Slivka, have the guns to throw "long"!!!

Jes' who was throwin' them bombs?

I'm glad Wright is finally healthy, we can use his talent. My worry is this - he's moved to wr as a stop-gap move this year and loses all those reps at db. After this season, we lose 2 for sure, maybe 3 (depending on how well Jimmy Smith plays) cornerbacks. Next year, who are the starting corners, and how thin will the depth be at cb/db? Additionally, barring suspensions, academics, injuries, etc., the Buffs will have Simmons, Simas, Clemons, Jefferson, Ussery, and Darden, at a minimum, at wide-out next year.

The long term effects of this move have me a bit concerned.
