Depth chart released

Our 2nd string punter is Darrell Scott.

:bang:

WTF is Grossnickle doing? Are we seriously trying to redshirt him? :wtf:

And the problem with that is.........what???

Scott can punt well, plus he gives pause to the ST coachs on the other side. As a punter he is protected better from injury than when he carrys the rock, so what?

Looking more like Ussery, Darden, Orms, Olatoye, Nobriga, Webb will redshirt. I think that is part of the logic of moving A. Wright to WR - Jefferson is ready to play, and Wright allows the other FR to redshirt.

I'm just glad that Simmons and Wright are 'in the mix' and going to play vs. CSU. No offense to McKnight, Espinoza and Maxwell, but even CSU would have to gain a little confidence seeing the "white 3 amigos" as our only wideouts. All Simmons and Wright have to do is take turns running off DB's and letting the other guys work underneath.

Surprised that TD is RSing. Wright must have stepped up big time. Wow how our WR outlook has changed since the start of camp...

The depth chart at WR scares me. So does the depth chart at RB, for that matter.

How about playing the guys with the most talent, potential and skill rather than the practice champions and workout warriors?

What scares you about the RB position? Speedy has been out since the second scrimmage with a pulled hammy. He'll see plenty of carries over the course of the season, once he is healthy.

The problem with that is that we have four kickers on scholarship and we have our starting tailback listed as our #2 punter. That's absurd.

Not many surprises there. Maybe Lagrone ahead of Obi at DE... and Behrens being listed as a back up at RG instead of LG. I thought he would be the starter there too

I can easily imagine DS back there, punts, and some asshole - Von Miller for example - comes in an "accidentally" roughs the punter taking out the knee in the process.

The only time I want to see DS punt is on a 4th & 3 at the Buffs own 45. do a pooch punt like elway used to do - or run it.

At SMU during the Pony Express days of Craig James and Eric Dickerson, Craig James was the starting punter for the Mustangs for at least two years. He actually had some pretty good fake punts over that time.

What's absurd about it? Maybe one too many kickers on scholly, but that's not a huge problem. Apparently Scott can boom it, even though his form is lacking. As long as he's not spending too much time in practice with the punting squad, I don't see a problem. Also, you know the opposing team will be puckering if Scott trots out to punt on a fourth and five on their half of the field--they'll have to cover the fake.

It's college football, let the kids play.

Looks like Mariner is out. Probably a good idea to red shirt him if a RS is still available. A medical RS doesn't count against the regular RS does it?

Seems like an odd decision to not do his mission if he won't contribute

could be wrong, but I think if one doesn't already have a RS year, the medical RS will count as a RS, and they can't take another.

MTM is out until he's ready to go. Nothings changed there.
Grossnickle has really struggled with punting as he is attempting to fix up his technique. The only way he doesn't redshirt is if our two kickers fail miserably.

I have no idea what you are talking about here. Are you complaining that there is no first-team guy at these positions? What scares you is what pumps me up... I see no downside at RB to having 4 guys who can carry the load on any given play, some with power, some with quicks....

Ultimately the best players will see the field unless they are not team players or don't know the playbook. That said, I think it is completely appropriate for the coaches to talk up to the media the guys who are working the hardest.

What happened to Hicks? I was excited to land him out of Texas, but now it seems Arthur Jaffee is closer to sniffing pt.

Not to mention Scott getting blindsided by a psyco special teams player trying to make a tackle on a return. Punters are usually fair game to block during a return.

Lockridge and Sumler ahead of Scott and Speedy .... wtf up with that?

Note the word "AND" repeated after each name: All will play, basically co-first team.

EDIT: Sumler get top billing based on seniority; the three sophs are listed alphabetically.
