THE GOOD

Cu wins 24-0. The defense was great for 60 minutes and got presssure. Beatty, herrod and major played great. They dropped 3 picks though.

THE BAD

CU ol for how big and strong they are get NO push at the line of scrimmage. Johnson needs to get in their *** and demand better. No excuse to keep getting pushed around.

Cody, overthrows, fumbled snaps and never looks anywhere but to mcknight.

The ugly..

24 POINTS and only 7 in the 2nd half? Should have scored 40+ and where was simas, simmons and wright? They can't keep leaving these guys on the bench while espinosa plays.

In the end it's awin and I'm going to enjoy it for what it is but this offense has a ton of work to do.

I don't want to take anything away from McKnight because he's a workhorse. But, It seems Hawkins doesn't like to play the play makers. We've all noticed this.

My only hope is that the team comes out fired up for WVU establishes the run, a lead and then holds on for dear life. Like last year. If they get down quickly again I don't think this offense has it in them to catch up.

Well I guess we got a win. It wasn't pretty. We should have been able to lay it to WY but didn't. We need a lot of work to get ready for WVU.

A win is always nice and the D looked very good, but I'm not sure we would've beat very many Big XII teams today.

We looked a whole ****load better this week than we did last week. I'm happy.

Go Buffs. Beat WVU.

Oh yeah, and the crowd looked great from out here in CA. Glad to see that Boulder is still behind the team.

Good - Win, Speedy, The D, The Helmets

BAD - Lack of consistent oline play, 4th down attempts, cody's deep ball -

Ugly - We have the worst looking cheerleaders in the nation.

We looked better on defense and speedy ran well but our OL has got to be better than that. Also, they have to start putting SPEED and TALENT on the field. Mcknight should be out there but simmons, wright and SIMAS should be subbibg for each other.

Still can't find why simas stopped playing, he was talking it up pretty good in the papers, what happened and why didn't he play?

Simas apparently has a strained MCL, which is why he didn't play.

Must have hurt it during warm-ups because the papers and he said he was playing. Also, scoot was out with a knee injury? What is with us and 5 star rb's who can't stay healthy?

Simas did play. I saw him miss a block on Sumler's long run in the first half.

Good: we won. Defense has improved with the simplified scheme.

Bad: offense is the same below average product we've seen.

You saw that too? Sumler could have gone a long way. I thought for sure he'd get at least 1 catch. Simmons has 1 catch in 3 games

I hope somebody wakes up hawk and tells him they need the speed and talented wr's out there.

Premium sites scooped the injury the night before. At least an injury is a better explanation than I've got for Simmons. Burned his shirt in game 1 then put him on the shelf. That's a WTF!

How do all of our playmakers get injured in practice.. Maybe they're trying too hard to show up Espinoza and ugh whatever other walkons are going 110% in practice. We NEED Simas and Simmons out there vs everyone else we play or this is going to be the last win for a long time. Same with Scott. Speedy is great, but man can you imagine how great Scott and Speedy would be as a 1-2 punch.

the good for me....

it no longer looks like a hockey line change between every single play on both sides of the ball for CU.

the D played a great game. i hope the got a standing O from the fans.

speedy. the kid just has it. what ever "it" is.

when i thought the D was going to go into a prevent type, aka give the game away, style D.... they kept with it.

the kids seemed to be playing with passion and flying around on the D.

made all FG attempts.

the bad...

cody just can not connect beyond 25 yards. to save anyones life. the only point in CU throwing deep is to say that "we might get one of these one day but, dont bet on it'.

the o-line shows not one hint of taking control of the LOS. this is going to be a big, big problem going forward.

stupid penalties.

any sign of our big time WR recently off of probation/injury? :bang:

wyoming is not a very good team. CSU will roll them.

I wasn't able to watch or listen to the game so take this with a grain of salt because it's just based off what I can glean from the box score.

The Good
- We've avoided following in Washington's footsteps as the next winless team.
- D looks like it played great, I won't ever argue with a shutout. 4 sacks and held them to 2.2 ypc.
- Stewart picked up where he left off last year.
- 7/16 on third down conversions, I can live with that.

The Bad
- Cody attempting 31 passes, what the hell? Please give Lockridge more reps or something. If he is going to be throwing 30+ times even when the game plan is being executed correctly, I think we are well and truly f&cked.
- Our longest rush was only 15 yards (that also resulted in a fumble, but at least led to a CU touchdown). Can't really tell if that's because of not enough blocking at the second level, RBs not being able to exploit holes, make people miss in the open field or outrun them, or what. I can't remember when out last 20+ yard rushing TD was, we need a home run threat. Scott looked the part against Toledo but is injured now.

The Ugly
- Our passing game still looks like garbage. Only 1 reception between Will Jeff, Simas, Simmons, and Deehan? No touchdowns? At least Cody didn't toss any picks.

Back from the game (I know it is early, but I took all three of my kids to this game).....The Defense looked very good out there, no one was out of place and played very aggressive.....The Offense......well we scored 24 points, Cody missed 2 wide open WR for TD and locks on McKnight right away. The O-line is huge, but they get pushed around on the LOS which really hurts or running game.....GO BUFFS!!

Defense looks MUCH improved against an inferior opponent. Running game was solid...Stewart is our best and most productive back by far. Our O-Line is still very shaky and we can't convert our long passes...and not always Cody's fault.

Overall it was a good day...but we need a serious game plan..the ability to stretch the field and the same kind of defensive effort to win on the road against WVU....our O-Line is going to take a while to come around I'm afraid.

Bad: Cody is flat out NOT the answer at qb. How many passes did he ruin?? Replace him immediately or we will never be taken seriously

ND should have lost too, Mich St QB missed a completely blown coverage in the end zone.

Anyway, Cody misses easy passes, so I'm not sure it matter who plays WR. I'm still concerned about tackling - the D today was more about Wyoming's 3 QBs (! - we can't even get 2 on the field when Cody isn't performing) and anemic offense. And what was up with that shotgun hike over Cody's head? This team needs to go back to fundamentals, and assume it's rushing identity. For one thing, we need that to take time off the clock when we run into the buzzsaw of Big XII QBs.

Saw at least two delay of game penalties against the Buffs. No idea why Cody can't get the play off. It's consistant: he's always right up against the clock.

We got a win. I think I'll just enjoy it tonight and wait until tomorrow to analyze it.

:woot::woot::woot::woot:

Play call has something to do with it.

People seem pretty down on this team even after today's win.

Adding Burney at Safety and simplifying the defense did wonders for us today. Granted Wyoming did not execute all game, but we were aggressive, tackled well, didn't give up any big plays and played very tough on defense.

Cody did what he had to do. He did not turn the ball over and made a couple big throws in the first half. He made a great play on 3rd and long in the first half on his pass to Mcknight.

Lockridge dropped a wide open pass. Cody got the ball to him.

Major played a ton and looked pretty good. The late hit penalty on him was complete BS.

Loved Hawk's comments after the game on 850.

Anyone have facebook? If you do, look up the "Dont you wish you lived with Scotty McKnight" page created by whom?

Kind of weird if you ask me?
:huh::wtf:
