My kid and CU Football....

PhillyBuff

no longer awaiting CU football's return... we here
Club Member
I came home from the Eagles game on Sunday and my 2 1/2 year old asks me if i was at work....

I tell him.. no, I was at the Eagles game with his uncle and when he gets older he can go with me....

He then looks at me... a bit confused.. and says....:

"I can go see football and Ralphie with Daddy!..... YEEAAAHHHH!"

the kid is a fing genius....

This is the first year that miss sackman is going to the games on a quasi-regular basis. She still knows nothing about the game of football other than Ralphie, Chip, cheerleaders and a bunch of people screaming their heads off. But she seems to enjoy the experience.

A genius doesn´t mix up the Eagles and the Buffs ... just saying.

apparently my son is above your level of intelligence....

he just made me commit to bringing him out to Colorado....

mere mortals fail to see how fing brilliant that was.....

:smile2:

the trick will be picking a game where CU might win so that he has a positive first experience.

Same with Avery

I took my goddaughter to the game on Saturday (4 yrs old) and she had a great time. After Ralphie ran at the start of the 2nd half, she asked me when the other animals were going to come out. :smile2:

Getting the fight song out of her head is a whole different story. I'm glad her parents are both Buff fans or else they may never let her hang with me again.

My 5 year old daughter wouldn't talk to me when I came home from the game on Sat because I didn't take her with me. The Mrs finally explained it to me and she was pissed about it all day. I had to bribe her to cheer her up about the whole issue.

Keep it up. My 14 year old daughter is ready to fight for tickets now.

My son brought up CU at his parent teacher conference and I almost died when the principal looked at me and said wow, tough couple of weeks. I wanted to smack that old bastard.

My 6 year daughter asked me the name of the bar we visited on Sunday for the CU watch party. Her 1st grade teacher was inquiring. I hope that doesn't come back to bite me at the parent teacher conference.

Which bar did we go to, daddy-o?

The Fox & Hound, sweety.

is her teacher an alumnus? perhaps this can work in your favor...

My daughter is too young to know CU football, she isn't even talking yet. But, she knows where her favorite book Hello Ralphie is. We read it multiple time a week. Her favorite part is when I sing the fight song. I don't know why. I'm the worse the William Hung when it comes to singing. She's also obsessed with my CU hats. Especially the ones with Ralphie on it.

The plot thickens. I have a son? Who told you that? I'm going to need to see the results of the DNA test. :wow:

I overheard Misti Hawkins make the almost identical comment about her husband walking into the CSU game ...

PHEW... After I saw the title of this thread and before I opened it, I thought it was going to be a smugly defensive post by Coach Hawk.

OTOH, an explanation of the current situation and the season from the man himself might do nicely. That is, if a mere mortal, non-D1-FB coach such as myself could understand the intricacies.
