Just don't know what else to say.

This team is close. Really close.

I will have to agree with you on this team being close.......but this game tonight showed more then ever that Hawkins is way in over his head. We had a true D-1 QB and coach, we win.....

Yeah, we're 1-4, losing to CSU, Toledo, unranked WVU, drop our starting QB in the 3rd qtr against UT, but we're real close.

I've been defending players all night but I never could defend coach Hawkbanks and I won't now. If the players are "close" it's despite Hawk, not because of him.

DBT. I agree we ARE close. But the most glaring deficiency on this team is the at the QB position. It really bothered me that the oline seemed to GIVE UP once Cody was pulled. I was counting on a spark from the newly substitued QB, but it most certainly did not happen.

We ARE kinda close, but when you cannot move the ball on offense, you are totaly screwed. How are we gunna fix that?

We should be more than "really close" at this point. He's had four years to get his kids in here. Now we're working with a green QB against the B12.

Are you freaking blind? I'm disgusted with fans who stick their head in the sand.

They played great the first half and things were looking very promising, I was pumped and after the way ku squeaked out a win at home vs isu, things were looking very good.

Then came the second half, we had more penalty yards than offensive yards, and we pissed down our leg and it became a nightmare.

The defense played their butts off but the offense in the second half was awful. Now the hansen-cody debate starts.

I was about to pat you on the back for the next 5 hours for the way they looked to have improved and turned it around after 1 half but, the 2nd half killed it.

Hey, there are tons of teams out there that want your support.

We support cu, but this is a mess right now, stick your head in the sand all you want but the 2nd half was a killer for this team and their morale.

Close to what?

They played one decent half.......a half which Texas sleepwalked though, cuz it's hard to get up for a team that you know sux. Our only hope is for the rest of the teams on our schedule to do the same.

WE HAD 20 PENALTIES!

Is close having more penalty yards than yards of offense? Or is it being outscored 28-0 in the second half? How about 1.2 yards per rush?

Well in a way we are close. If our O-line can block better I feel that all our problems will be solved. I'm confident we have good RB's and adequate WR's. I'm also happy with Hansen at QB, sure expect to see some mental mistakes but I'll take that over what we've got now.

And we didn't just play one good half. And Texas didn't dominate us. We shot ourselves in the foot we didn't capitalize on opportunities and we had tons of penalties on the line. I still have hope that our
O-line can gel and we can rally the rest of the season.

The players are there. A good coach would have us 4-1 or 5-0 right now. We turn the ball over too much, commit too many penalties, give up too many big plays, and are unsound in the kicking game. Plus we chose the wrong QB to start the year. That's coaching. But if these players (and a handful of good assistants) can overcome Dan Hawkins and his Boise coaches, we could still win the North this year.

I think the D is there. They popped tonight.

The O on the other hand has a long way to go. The Oline is still a year away and although Hansen has the tools he is also very green as are nearly all the WRs.

We are also dangerously close to losing DS IMHO. I still don't know why Sulmner gets carries over DS. The kid is never in long enough to get a rhythm going.

The defense was phenomenal tonight. They gave up 17 points - the rest were scored by defense and special teams.
