What encourages me and we WILL beat Kansas

Is the effort our team has put in the last three games. They could have folded completely after the Toledo disaster, but this team still keeps fighting. You hate moral victories, but I think it's safe to say for the first time under Hawk here, the team seems to be improving each week. Yes, I know we're still 1-4 and I am still unsure about Hawk.

We fought a good long while with the lead against the #2 team in the country in their house where no one gave us a chance to come out of the first quarter in the game.

Now, the thing that baffles me is the pulling of Hansen's RS halfway through the year, why not after the CSU or Toledo game?

Anyway, I think we will beat an overatted Kansas team if the team that we have seen the last three weeks comes to play.

It's pretty wild, but I am psyched for next week, too. There were moments where it looked like the team was getting it.

Yessir. The defense looked like it "popped". Now it's just a matter of getting the ball to some talented players in space.

Simas, Lockridge, and maybe Simmons could get this offense going if we can get the ball to them.

I saw enough of DS rolling through the secondary to still have a ton of confidence in him. I'd like to see him do his thing.

This sounds crazy, but it doesn't look like KU has played anybody as good as CU this season. Their wins are over Northern Colorado, UTEP, Duke, So. Miss, and ISU. The Southern Miss and ISU games were both at home and won by a touchdown or less.

Hell, put me down for a shot of Kool-Aid, in fact make it a double!

That doesn't sound crazy. That seems pretty accurate. Now, if we just play like we did against Texas and get a little more help from the offense we'll roll Kansas.

Not trying to be a downer here, but TH needs to prove himself on the field before we start counting on our offense. I think he will eventually, and I hope it's sooner than later.

Some more stats on KU of interest;

ISU's top rusher had 155yds and averaged 5.6yds per carry, their qb was 25-40 for 293yds, and had 69 yds rushing.

With our running back stable and a mobile qb in Hansen, that plays into our strengths. We should be able to move the ball this week.

This should be a good team to run against. If Hansen has to win the game with the pass I like our odds less.

And I'm sure Texas thought they would run all over us after the way Devine sliced us up. We basically shut down the Longhorns rushing game.

I think we can too. But the coaches might have something to say about that. The players certainly can, there is certainly enough talent, but the coaching is very lacking.

I was think that last night. I was hoping Scott wasn't also thinking it. I don't want him thinking he made the wrong choice in schools.
I have a feeling he's already considered that he made the wrong choice. I think he's now weighing the prospects of how quickly things could get better for him if things change here vs. paying the price of a transfer to get him to greener pastures. I don't like our chances.

This thread, win or lose, is definitely going to get bumped after the game.

Hopefully it's a win, but I have my doubts.

Everybody is getting caught up in the Texas game. Who has Texas played this year that makes anybody think they are a better team than they are. This is the same team that Wyo stayed close with in the first half (sound familiar). Texas starts slow and finishes with few mistakes. Just because we were leading UT at the half everybody thinks we are good enough to hang with anybody.

1. KUs Offense is more explosive than UTs Offense...their passing game will be all over our soft secondary.

2. KUs Defense sucks...we will have an opportunity to score points.

3. We are not good on either side of the ball and horrible on Offense.

4. ISU is at least as good as we are this year.

We lose this one big but will score a few points in the process. I hate to be a downer, but I have been watching the same games you guys have and there is not much hope of a turn around. sorry. 42-27...KU

It's more about Kansas being soft and overatted and hasn't played anybody.

Also it's not just the Texas game. I have seen this Colorado team improve each week since Toledo. They have looked better overall each week since that game.

Colorado is gonna win Saturday.

They could only look better after getting pounded for 500+ yards. D still gives up way too many big plays. The O has done nothing. Special teams still stink.

I hope CU can pull off the upset. I really hope TH plays great, but based on what I have watched this year with CU I see KU scoring around 35 points, and I don't see our O being able to score more than 21.

I thought the defense played well against Texas and the offense played well against WVU. If that D and offense shows up, then we stand an excellent chance.

What we need is the defense that showed up against Texas (except for the last drive of the first half and the fourth quarter) and the second half of the CSU game, and the offense that showed up for the first half of the WVU game and the first drive of the UT game.

Also, if they try to fake a field goal, I want to see the fake field goal defense that showed up when we played NU last year.

If all that happens against KU I think things just might POP.

Meh. 5.4 yards a pass play and 3.3 yards a rush with three turnovers does not seem that great to me.

I am not gonna settle for less then the offense that scored 65 pts against NU.. that one.. the last one that CU had that I liked.

amen, I'm not saying our offense is good, I'm saying it has shown flashes of improvement. Kansas has a ****ty defense and if our D plays the way they did, even an average offense should beat this overatted squaker team.

Kansas IS over-ratted. Nice visual.

I was really excited until Dan said Cody would probably play. Hawk sure knows how to take excitement away.
