Very interesting, felt more like a high school atmosphere in a large high school stadium. it was my first D2 game experience, I gotta admit though, pretty impressive facilities, fans and stuff for a program that didn't even have a team, stadium, or coaching staff just a year and a half ago. Oh and they served beer in the stadium!

I hope RuffBuff is getting some coin for all the different ways they're using his design. Inflatable entrance tunnel?? That's got to be worth something...

Nice. D-2 athletics are definitely different. I went to the RMAC X-C championships yesterday at Washington Park. Kids truly doing it for the "love of the game".

Nice Pics. Thanks. I noticed that the game drew over 6,000 fans; that's a lot for an RMAC game. Support in Pueblo is big. I wonder if this is a potential Big Sky Conference I-AA program in a few years.

Its because Western State was in town. It's similar to when the Lakers or Cubs come to town, even places that struggle with attendance issues will sell out to see true tradition/greatness.

ha...i wish! they got around that by conducting a design contest with a grand prize of $500. i guess it is good for the resume' and portfolio....?

A Flight For Life flyover? Wouldn't most consider that a little ominous?

its D-II....you can't expect the stealth bomber....

shoot...being pueblo i would have expected a canada goose or a pigeon....flight for life is pretty good.

personally, i like the guy with the skullet taking his dog for a walk on the field....

Despite Western's "great tradition" the game had smaller attendance than I expected for homecoming, maybe the "draw" from the Mountaineers wasn't positive after all! ha

6K attendance was an average turnout for the season (6,066 so far). That would be higher except for a really small turnout for the Mesa State game due to the weather.

Last season they drew 7,853 per game for the best in the RMAC (Top 20 among NCAA Division II programs).

Nothing compared to the bigger programs in the state, but Pueblo really loves football and has some big donors that are making this program an immediate success.

I lived in Greeality when Joe Glenn and The Bears were winning MNCs. I had a lot of fun in their small and fan friendly atmosphere. It had a very organic feel to it that was really cool.

Except those were not MNC, they actually settled those on the field!

I chatted with him on several occasions. He was extremely likable and extremely approachable guy. Even did me a favor once. The best part was watching him play the piano with his brothers at a local Greeley haunt. Too much fun.

He was a helluva a motivator too; He could convince you to light yourself on fire for the good of the team and you'd be happy doing it.

Too bad things didn't go better for him at Wyoming.

Your right. I stand corrected.
