Don't know if it will do much good. Can't hurt to keep the pressure on, though.

Basically told him that the team was listless today and that everyone involved with the program should be ashamed. Also that I won't be renewing season tickets if Hawkins is still our coach.

The university has a good filtering system. His email is plastered everywhere on the cubuffs.com website as well as the university's. No need to try and mask it. It won't make a bit of difference.

CUBuffs.com isn't trolled by bots nearly as much as a message board like AllBuffs. I understand your point, but let's not have AllBuffs be the source of additional spam.

Well then the link should be removed. the mailto: is still his real email.

Good point. That was some weak-ass editing by wispy. You'll have to forgive the mods around here; they're all walk-ons and 1*s.

It's ok, it's just the little things. They bring their lunch pail and hard hat everyday. We'll see. They'll get there.

BTW, I've wanted to say this, but I will now. You really need to control your emotions. Ride the bow. You can't let your emotions get a hold of you. Don't let the lows bring you down and the highs get you too high.

When I was in Macchu Pichu just after I stopped training for a marathon...oh **** it. And **** you.

I practiced it really well. I even went to preview the post and it all looked good. But, when it came time to execute, I just didn't do all the little things. Will I do better next time? We'll see.

You know that you're still loved, right? Super! Have a juicebox and a hug.

Instead of emailing him. How about sending him snail mail. Maybe a hard copy would have a stronger impact.

here is a copy of mine.

subject: no more from me

Mr. Bohn,

I have written you once before and you responded with a form letter. I therefore assume you are pretty busy so I will keep this very brief.

I am done attending games, watching games on television, buying licensed merchandise, paying for Buffs TV or donating to the school and the athletic department until Coach Hawkins is gone.

Got a reply from Bohn. Apparently even the small fish get replies these days....

I have sent him 3 or 4 this year asking him to fire Hawk. This one was simple. I just told him I would not be buying season tickets next year or supporting the program in any way if Hawk was back. This was probably a lie.. However, I didn't mind it . Ends justify the means and all that.

I was surprised that he had kept track that I had sent him multiple emails. I sure wouldn't remember that in his place! However, there was something very strange in his reply.

Thank you for taking the time to write again. I am in receipt of your note and fully understand your frustration. We will keep working hard to improve in all facets of the program. Loyal supporters and fans like you are integral to our success and I urge you to stay with us. Boy, it would have been nice to have the Miami game work out. The MAC Conference really let us down.

:wtf:

Sent mine today...had to wait a few days so that I could write something with a little less anger at juicebox...I'm anticipating a form letter response as well. I'll post it as soon as I hear back from Bohn (If I hear back from Bohn).

Am I the only one who feels a little sorry for Bohn? Probably. The guy has a big job, and I understand that this all comes with the territory of running a major D-1 athletic program. But jimminy christmas, I think he gets it already. We're pissed.

Ahhh, whatever. I suppose that it would be a lot worse if he weren't getting the e-mails. That would suggest apathy, which is clearly something he does not want.

I like Mike Bohn, I believe in his vision for our athletic department, and I commend the job he's done in every aspect except the won-loss records of the CU varsity teams under his watch. In his case, I'm willing to accept the rationale that there are going to be growing pains when you try to build something up the right way. The AD, unlike the football program, actually was broken 4 years ago.

why the form letter about the ****ing MAC? I don't get it.

What I heard from boosters that made the Toledo trip is that Hawkins loudly blamed Bohn for scheduling that game and setting us up to lose. I guess that's gotten some traction and Bohn's overly defensive. Seems like he accidentally put it in the reply to you, though.

Well, Bohn did screw the pooch on that deal. He should have simply scheduled another home game against a crappy opponent. Not that bringing in a crappy opponent would have made any difference. Toledo IS a crappy opponent, we just had to play them there instead of here.

in retrospect, it looks bad. and Hawk talking noise about his boss in public (from another post) sounds pretty dumb to me.

i think you could also argue that, say, we beat CSU (which, if we are going to win 10 games without excuses or even be the 7-9 win team most of us thought CU would be you think you beat CSU in Boulder) and we go in to Toledo and take care of business on national TV we're 2-0 heading into WYO and another national TV game at WVU which has some buzz after last year's game.

as an AD whose job is to get the brand out there....it sounds like a pretty good deal to get your guys on national TV 3/4 weeks where every football fan and recruit in the US is going to be watching those games. you reach out to an unusually national alumni base for a public university as well.

i have mixed feelings about Bohn but i think after the Miami OH cancellation that's a reasonable risk to take given your job description and being the HMFIC. maybe you get Hawk to sign off on the short week, but seems like a good roll of the dice to me play on the field notwithstanding.

I'm not close to the program and I believe everyone who says that he's a good guy with great intent. However, it is possible he needs take How to Hire a BCS Coach 101.

I've met Bohn a couple of times in passing. He's a great face of the AD, and he's a top notch administrator. But AD's live and die by their FB coach hires. This one stinks. It's hard to say you are having a great party with a turd in the punchbowl...

Yep sent an email to Bohn yesterday, and got a reply today. Hopefully all of us that care can get the results we desperately need.

You were serious about that? I thought it was a joke, it was so ludicrous.

If a BCS conference AD is going to essentially admit that he was screwed by the MAC, what does that leave us to believe? It's one thing if we draw that conclusion on our own, it's another if he's playing the role of vicitim. Dude, you're the AD...you make the deals. If you lose some, don't come crying to the fanbase.

I'm very, very unimpressed with that line of the response. I find it very concerning.

Hawk is a big proponent of playing the cards your dealt. He was dealt a ****ty hand, no doubt about it. We knew it on Allbuffs, and I was pretty unhappy about Toledo (and even vocal about it a few times) well prior to the actual game.

HOWEVER, Hawk would be better off to be stoic about the whole deal. Play into your own mantra, and let the rest of us recognize the unfairness of the situation. Don't play the victim, allow us to determine that he was victimized.

Bohn made a very informed decision when he hired Hawk and I supported it fully. There was no evidence to suggest that our program would be where it is in year four, back then.
