Another really good article. Here are some highlights.

“We’re definitely in it,” CU tailback Rodney Stewart said. “Kansas State has some big games coming up they could easily lose. We could easily lose, as well, as we did (Saturday).”

Hansen had a nice debut in 2008 and then struggled when defenses adjusted to him, and eventually returned to the bench. Hansen had a nice debut in 2009, and struggled Saturday. It’s up to the player and coaches to avoid a repeat of 2008.

Of course, it’s not all on the quarterback. CU’s offensive line did not block well, and the run game totaled 60 net yards. Receivers dropped passes. Play-making among the receivers and backs is still lacking.

“It was just a bad day all around,” Hansen said. “You always have one of those days.”

CU enters the week last in the Big 12 in scoring, yards gained, punt returns, net punting, pass efficiency and pass efficiency defense. The Buffs are next to last in rushing offense, points allowed and turnover margin.

Statistics can certainly be misleading. But it’s hard to argue that’s the case here.

The Buffs say they’re convinced they can still win the North. Linebacker Marcus Burton went so far as to say he’s “extremely convinced. All we have to do is play. We have to go and do our job, and whatever happens, happens.”

Well, we basically have to win out. OK State should be the toughest since we havent won a big 12 road game since my son was like 2. Little things my ass, little bit more than that and it starts at the top.

This division is so unbelievably ****ty that there is little doubt the North champ will have 3 conference losses. They can drop the OSU game and still win the division if they win the rest. Unlikely, but doable. ISU might actually have the inside track to the North given their weak south schedule.

This could be the weakest North in the history of the division.

IMO, they should not be worried about winning the North. They should be focused on beating Missouri. That is a problem...they like to tell everyone that everything is okay because__________ you fill in the blank. This week it is because they can still win the North. Well everyone else in the division can still win the the north but you win it by winning the games not talking about it.

So if we lose this week, can we give up hope entirely? Hard for Dan to talk about fun things like winning seasons and bowl games or North championships when we're 2-6 with 2 more road games coming up.

Dan would make an interesting baseball manager, I can just see him telling the fans to believe when his team is 10 games back with 11 to play. He'd also be one of those managers that no matter how bad his pitcher is, he just keeps marching him out there every 5th day.
