He's reading an email from someone that is supportive...

Maybe he should read the other 1000 emails they've been getting.

Starting to talk about all the academic, and public, and personal, and charity things they're doing...

Starting to sound like a sales pitch, selling himself on what he's done.

Read an email from an old coach, "I remember how great you guys were at coaching..." and he looked up at the press like, "see... I'm great!!"

I've always been on record that [almost] any coach should get five years and even now I think Hawk should get another year, but this press conference is just bizarre. He's spending a half-hour describing how great they're doing. I can only guess he's really feeling the heat.

It's creepin' me out.

"I have unconditional support from Tom and Mike, and I'm going to be here a long time. We're going to get this thing turned around."

Why are they working on road issues when their next 2 games are at home?

Did he talk about Missouri at all? After 2 straight beat downs from them, I'd hope that we're focused on the game at hand and putting on a show for the Homecoming crowd.

It seems like a sales pitch, or like he's running for office trying to get elected.

Don't buy it...

He has "unconditional support"?

Wow.

My son has that from me, but that's it. Even with my wife there are some conditions (like not taking all our money to travel the world with our mailman).

I don't want a coach that has to keep learning from the same mistakes, I want a coach that has learned from his mistakes in the past, not one that will screw up again this week but then say he will learn from it. Nick Saban doesn't learn from his mistakes because he already made them a long time ago and he will nevern admit he makes them now.

Still has 100% confidence he's doing everything right...

Still hasn't taken any responsibility for players not being ready to pay.

Ended his statements by leaning back and simply saying... "done"

"I love Scotty but, he'll tell you, he doesnt run track in the spring. We need to get our guys in that can blow the top off this thing" Think he's reading allbuffs?

Then who's he talking to? The fans? The press? Even Hawk has to know that at this point the fans just want wins, he's not changing any minds in a press conference.

I don't understand how he is both learning from his mistakes and has done nothing wrong. Unless the mistakes were "we mistakes" that are really on assistants and players while he's been the model of perfection.

I dislike how much time he obviously spent preparing for this ****ing press conference just to defend himself. Get ready for hte team that has prison sexed you 3 years running asshole!

I think he's reacting to a talk from Bohn regarding being more open with the media/fans. This is a 180 from any other press conference i've seen from Hawk.

Great, more confusion along the OL this week.

Great maybe our starting QB can play an entire game

big week for us too, we need our coaches to come out and coach

oh jesus, not the little things again.

Pretty sure Hawk isn't hard on anyone especially himself. Take some credit for your team coming out and playing an awful and uninspired game.

Juicebox is right, he's got a contract extension. He can sit on his a$$ and pick his nose for the next few years if he wants to, and still get paid.

Why are they excited exactly?

-Working on leadership, and road issues...
Great, perfect time to work on road issues. Maybe Hawk forgot to work on this last week?

-Staff is positive and working hard.
I guess it's better than being negative, when that is what this team probably needs. I'd say it's ok to be negative when you play like that. Not everything is rainbows and sunshine.

-He likes our guys... ???
Do they like you?
-"I don't quite know how to handle it...."
Yes, we can see that.

-"We're very very young... And we're redshirting some guys who are very very good."
Oh good, next year is the year then. Who might this be BTW? Haven't we removed everyones' redshirts for minimal playing time already this year?
