O-line

Unleash Hell

Remember when Hawk got here and he even recognized that our O-line situation was pretty ****ty. Well, he actually made that a priority in recruiting and got some good "talent" to come in and really built up the depth. Shouldn't the O-line be finally coming together (just like a lot of other things that aren't) four years later????

They were horrible today. No running game and Hansen had someone in his face all day. They just haven't come together for a solid whole game.

This is clearly the most damning piece of evidence that Talkins needs to go.. All he did was whine about the lack of OL from the previous staff and once his guys he recruited come in they end up being WORSE than what he was left from under Barnett.. And from what I've seen, I dont 'see a lot of "wow" talent on that OL..

The OL plays just like how our head coach acts: SOFT..

Agree 100%

There is no excuse for the O-line play. He recruited that position early so the depth is there. The O-line just is not being taught good technique.

Watching them today it seemed like we had at least 2 O-line men on the ground after every play. They are off balance constantly and as a result either get beat with an inside move or get bull rushed backward. This is not a size issue. It is pure technique at this point.

I had the pleasure of getting to watch part of the game with Roderick Sneed today and he made mention of the same thing. Technique was lacking.

Solder and miller have not lived up to the hype at all. Bahr, adkins and stevens seem to be getting mahnadled. There has been enough time and game play for this OL to be a more solid unit. They play decent one drive and then the next 3 give up sacks and get no push.

Maybe tuioti would help but for how long with his knee problems? This should be a strength for this team and they are the main reason this offense sputters so often.

Coaching? Not as talented as the coaches and mags/recruiting sites say?

Our best OL under this staff have been Gerthy and Polumbus (both Barney recruits), and while MTM may have been able to make a run.

Hey! Remember when we had a freshmen all-american left guard, and then we moved him to fullback so he transferred
.

How's our left guard situation been the last 2 years...?

If they take Tuitis redshirt now.. I'll be so furious. If Hawk does that it'll simply be because he knows he's coaching for his job and is no longer looking out for what's best for future of the program. I don't think he is at that point yet, but if he takes his redshirt he will be imo.

Was Solder that highly recruited? I was under the impression he was a TE that was a "hidden" gem.

I believe Miller, Givens, Max and the kid from Hawaii were the only highly recruited players on our OL.. I'll have to check everyone's offers to see who was really highly sought after.

Although none of that really matters, the staff has consistently shown they can't get anyone to produce whether they are highly recruited or not..

Solder wasn't highly recruited. His move to OL I guess is mostly hype at this point. He had some pretty good games last year though. One would think he would get better this year, but apparently that's unrealistic.

you don't get better if Talkins is your coach

maybe they get overmatched in games because the D-line they practice against is extremely inexperienced and not coached well either.

I don't know anymore, to single out a certain unit anymore is unnecessary. This is a "TEAM" problem and until the whole team can get better coaching and game prep, each unit is going to have lots of inconsistency week-by-week.

Our biggest problem is our coaching, our second biggest problem is the O-line play.

But you're right, every ****ing thing is a problem. This program is dog ****!

They were talking him up yesterday on the radio broadcast. Said that a sack he gave up yesterday was only his second of the year and that he's been grading out around 90%.

I am convinced I've been watching the wrong guy all year or something. Seems to me on most pass plays he is usually backpedaling faster than the QB.... :sad1:

Like most of the team, the OL line looks like they are completely unprepared. Almost like the coaches are getting them ready for the wrong team or trying to adjust for the previous week. Then after the coaches see what the other team is doing, they make the necessary adjustments (that usually happens around halftime, after it's too late)

Did anyone in the stadium or watching on TV think we were going to get a 1st on that 4th down play late in the 3rd quarter that totally killed any slim chance we had of making it interesting?

As soon as they said "they're putting in the Big boys, i knew were weren't gonna come close! Why not sneak it there? Our O line is offensive they are so bad. And what happened to Mr 5 star all world lineman ryan miller? Block someone please!

I mean on a play like that can't they get mad and say on this 1 play we are going to try and get some push and not allow 3 guys into the backfield to destroy speedy?

We suck, and we suck bad!

GO AWAY HAWK

The O-line has been coached by Mr. Whippel the guy who used to squeeze the toilet paper on tv, they are so very very soft. They have been trained by Whippel to run backward faster than the French army. The only guy on the O-line that ever was pissed off and slugged a guy on the other team is now riding the pine as Whippel tryes to break him.:bang:

solder allowed a huge sack when we were still in the game. that was embarrasing

by far the biggest disappointment. We were bad last year with a lot of injuries. Guys are back and mostly healthy this year. Miller, Solder, Bahr, Behrens were all starters for most of 1 year at least. Adkins and Iltis were supposed to take jobs away. What the hell is Denver doing? The offense is a no go without an O-Line. For evidence, see last year. They are getting worst, not better. Unbelievable.
