Kasa done for season

Hmm? It doesn't even say he was injured, just out with an illness.. the same illness that has struck Givens maybe? I hope nothing bad is going around.

Bill Snyder and H1N1 came around about the same time this year. Correlation?

First Givens and now Kasa. They have got to find out which girl it is and get her in for some treatment.

Just kidding. . .

Hope the best for both Givens and Kasa

The official attendance of 45,634 Saturday was the smallest crowd to see a Big 12 game in Boulder since the Iowa State game in 2006.

ouch

Hopefully the Big 12 will step up and approve the redshirt.

I heard he's now hurt his spleen. (Message board rumor with no confirmation so take it for what it's worth.)

Man, I had mono in HS. I feel bad for him, that is one unpleasant malady. I slept for like 20 hrs. a day for a week.

I had mono in 3rd grade. Turned yellow and missed the last third of the school year.

My fault, though, since I should have known better than to make out with a teacher who had the sniffles. :smile2:

Kasa update

Hawkins said freshman defensive end Nick Kasa has mononucleosis and an enlarged spleen. Kasa told the Camera after Saturday`s game that he would not play again this season and Hawkins confirmed that Sunday.
Hawkins said the program will submit paperwork in hopes the NCAA will grant Kasa a medical hardship season, but it is probably unlikely. The NCAA requires that a player does not participate in more than 30 percent or four games (because it rounds up not down) of the season.

Generally speaking, Hawkins said the rule applies to the first four games of the year. Kasa was injured and missed the first three games this season and played in games 4-7.

"He`s kind of outside the window," Hawkins said. "But like a lot of kids who transfer and do things like that, you never know based on his situation because it is unique.

When I had mono, I could hardly walk. I saw Kasa on the sidlines in jeans & jersey saturday roaming the sidelines. If he has mono, it's in the lightest form possible. Another thing, if he were granted a Medical RS and decided to transfer, would he have to give up that year of eligibility? Or worse?

Anyone else worried that all this flip-flopping about his health and Kasa's drive to try to get the medical hardship are all signs of a transfer? I'm very concerned here, I think he wants the extra year because he knowns he's going to sit out one after transferring.

Uh, wow. That's just... umm... not good. For coach to say that and then get rebuked like that.

Man he has to go!
