Attendance going down...

So I read somewhere that there were only about 45K at the game on Saturday against Mizzou. That leaves what, about 8,000 empty seats depending how they had the stadium setup?

Hmmmm, feel free to correct my numbers but lets see, 8,000 * $60 per ticket and that brings us to about half a million dollars in potential sales that were lost. That was just one game, lets multiply that by the rest of the games this year and the full season next year and we are going to lose the amount that the buyout would cost right now. Now if Bohn was able to go out and hire a winner that can sell out, maybe that loss could be turned into a gain? But that puts Bohn on the hotseat because if the next guy doesnt produce, he is gone too.

Wonder how many empties we have for the rest of the year? If it continues to grow over 10,000, keeping Hawk around will easily be more expensive than going out and finding a winner.

TAMU travels well so I bet there are a good amount of Aggies at the game. I'm guessing 44k for the next game.

The kNU game might be a sellout with a sea of red. If they need a W to win the North I fully anticipate it, if they don't it'll be close.

Fkn pathetic. Next year overall attendance will be lower if Hawk is back. However, if he manages to beat CSU and Cal and UGA we'll be fine. This ship can be righted, I just don't think it's possible with this coaching staff, but winning cures all.

I'm guessing there are more than a few sold tickets not getting used this year. Those aren't costing the AD nearly as much as you're figuring. Still some lost concessions, parking, etc.

But I would figure on a lot of those unused tickets this year turning into unsold tickets next year. And probably a few more besides. Right now the AD may be getting a sneak preview of what they have to look forward to next year if Hawk is still around.

A quick check of CraigsList TIX-For-Sale groups for NO and Baton Rouge last week, when LSU hosted mighty Tulane... strangely, no one was giving away LSU tickets. In fact, there were premiums on every ticket sold.

Odd, huh? Norman-OKCity had the same results. Lincoln NEB doesn't have any GiveAway tickets either for this upcoming weekend.

Austin hosts the Texas-Central Florida game. None of those tix are being given away either.

Baylor, on the other hand, has a long history of lotsa clean, shiny seating available. They've learned to drape a huge green tarp covering 25% of the seats in one end rather than having all those shiny reflective light feedback into the TV cameras. So THIS is how Bohn's directing the football program? He's now matching up a bake-sale AD in Waco?!!

How many tickets were sold "2 for 1"--for homecoming no less?

Yeah good point. I paid $70 for an end zone seat fairly high up and I don't know what the average price of a ticket is but it has to be somewhere in that range once you take into account all the other cheap seats. Once the season got going and we saw that this year was a disaster, I started seeing alot more "deals" from the AD for tickets. All of these "Buy one, get one" deals could have easily been sold for full price if the coach wasn't conducting a Chinese fire drill each week.

I am wondering how much $$ the AD has already lost this year due to the "deals" and unsold tickets. Then there is the parking, and I usually buy a CU shirt or two up at the bookstore when I go... Concessions, etc.
