D. Scott joining another inept coaching staff? Father of player at UCLA rips staff.

Here's a quote from a player's father about UCLA and its coaching staff.

Can't choose your family. Speaking of moribund Pac-10 offenses, it's becoming increasingly difficult for Rick Neuheisel to shake off the mounting criticism accompanying UCLA's 0-5 start in conference games, with crotchety columnists and the student newspaper among those beginning to bear down. That's to be expected when things are going poorly, but when parents of current players start going off in public forums, the wheels are coming off:

Brian Theriot, the father of seldom-used reserve fullback Trevor Theriot, took it a bit further on Facebook over the weekend:

"The sad state of UCLA football," Theriot posted. "My gosh…..I have never seen more misuse of talent and a greater degree of offensive stagnancy on play calling and use of personnel….we have the players.
"UCLA under Coach Rick (Neuheisel)….is horrible. Wayne Moses the running back coach is horrible. The sets are Pop Warner in movement, motion, and slots. I mean a Pop Warner type offense that Tim Tebow would laugh at.
UCLA is playing with great athletes but giving great athletes boys and girls club sets. Norm Chow and Wayne Moses are old school and gone. ..."

Theriot goes on to suggest he planned to show up at Monday's practice, "step out of the ‘parents’ section of the stands and coach the backfield" himself -- beginning with, shockingly, installing his seldom-used son as the starting fullback -- which would have been quite entertaining if UCLA held Monday practices, which it does not. Neuheisel was diplomatic in his response: "Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. That’s just a part of the deal." Everybody's entitled to their opinion, unless he happens to be a Bruin player criticizing his coaches online, in which case his Twitter feed will be discontinued immediately.

I bet Theriot would do a better job as coach than Talkins..

It's not a coincidence that both CU and Washington went in the tank after he left.

He probably isn't one of the 47 people that get that channel.

I don't understand how Rick is failing this time. UCLA is loaded with talent and to boot he has some top notch assistants. Lack of QB I guess, Prince hasn't looked very bad when I've seen them play, but I don't really watch UCLA much.

This is the first time he inherited a program that was struggling. When he took over at CU and Washington both programs were heavyweights. I really don't think he's that good of a coach.

Was Washington good when he got into town? I thought they were experiencing some rough times. I just remember he started fast with them and it went downhill quickly. Seriously though, he doesn't even have to do much at UCLA except ride around in a helicopter recruiting people and letting Norm Chow run the offense. How he's failing escapes me. I think even Hawk could succeed there with that kind of coaching support and talent base.

They weren't bad:
1975-1992 Don James 153-57-2
1993-1998 Jim Lambright - 44-25-1

Damn jimmy, we thought 2005 was bad, this is worse. 4 wasted years. The part that makes it even harder to take is, we recruited well on the OL and have a somewhat decent group of rb's but are worse in year 4 :wow:

If bohn hires another HR, he needs to be the next to fall.

Its pretty bad, and I'm not sure that we are all that better on the OL or at RB..

Is Speedy really better than Charles? Its debatable..

Agree, its been 4 wasted years.. Here's hoping the next decade will be better..
