Any would make me very excited. I think that the priorities of our next coach is that they are an excellent X's and O's guy, and recruiting. I don't care if they are kind of a jerk, Barnett, Saban etc. Just win, and win clean.

Mike Shanahan-instant NFL credibility, an amazing offensive mind, would assemble a good staff.

Brian Kelley-honestly don't know much, but he wins consistently with subpar conditions in a Buckeye state, and great midwest recruiting ties.

Greg Patterson-Great defensive mind, great Texas recruiting ties.

Will Muschamp-same as Patterson, very passionate, and may not want to wait around for the better part of a decade while Mack Brown builds his legacy.

I think all are within the realm of possibility, and would be the instant shot in the arm this program desperately needs.

Love the enthusiasm, but CU has no shot at any of them.

I agree Shanny is a really long reach, but I think the other 3 are very realistic.

Brian Kelly-CU has better facilities, plays in a better conference, has a better tradition and fan support, and is the top dog in the state.

Gary Patterson-better conference, better tradition and fan support, is the top dog in the state.

Will Muschamp-probably a tough one, but would still probably get a raise, would get to run his own show and start on his own legacy.

I dont think Muschamp would get a raise. He's making a BUNCH as coach in waiting for Macky, and, thats a dream job when he gets it. Doubt he'd throw that away. I'd put the chances of getting Muschamp at 0.

My leader would be Embree with EB as an assistant or O coordinator. I like Embree, he's an unbelievable recruiter and has some associate head coach experience. Would be nice to get former players/alum back on board.

Currently winning and at a top 15 program, BCS bowl last year, why would he step down to CU when other better jobs will come his way if not this year, next?

Gary Patterson-better conference, better tradition and fan support, is the top dog in the state.

TX guy at top 20 proagram who gets anybody in he wants that clears the clerainghouse, better jobs will be offered, see Kelly above.

Will Muschamp-probably a tough one, but would still probably get a raise, would get to run his own show and start on his own legacy.

Probably making at least half of DH salary and coach in waiting at perennial top 5 school that routinely whips CU.

Shanny, oddly enough, is the most likely, and that is a HUGE stretch...JMO.

I like:

Charlie Strong: great defense, not so sure about personality

The EB/Embree combo: Would recruit well and play with fire. I'd love to see them get David Gibbs back too. This might be too much of a homer hire though.

Gary Patterson/Brian Kelly: Not sure we could lure either one here, but they're definitely great coaches. Kelly would bring points on offense and Patterson would bring a stifling D.

Kevin Wilson: OU offense is damn good, prefer him over Venables because Stoops is a defensive coach.

Muschamp gets paid at least $1 mill a year to sit around until Brown leaves and he's left with the easiest HC job in college football.

Bud Foster: I think he'd be a great HC, not sure if we could get him to leave VT.

Gus Malzahn: This is my real reach pick. He doesn't have my experience, but it's hard to argue that he wouldn't bring a great offensive mind. Not sure how great he is with recruiting nor would he have good coaching ties to bring in a great staff.

A few coaches I would LOVE seeing on the Folsom sidelines. No order.

Gary Kubiak
Charlie Strong
Brian Kelly
Gary Patterson
Brent Venables
Kevin Wilson
Sonny Dykes
Kevin Sumlin
Greg Schiano
Skip Holtz
Butch Jones (CMU)
Chris Peterson (lol but seriously)

I like:

Sonny Dykes, good TX guy, dad was a winner at TT, but runs a version of Leachball

Andy Ludwig (?) OC at Cal

Jim McElwain OC at AL, not likely though

Strong, but not likely to come out west or more particularly, a school that isn't a perennial top25;

Briles, would he leave Baylor?

G Patterson, not likely though, see above.

Harbaugh at Stanford

Ron English, former DC at Michigan and current coach at some MAC school

The guy at Miss. St. who used to be the OC at OSU, I can't remember his name, Larry Fedora(?)

Oh I forgot, Dewayne Walker. I'm not sure how well he's doing at NMSU, but I think he'd be worth getting for an interview at least.

I thought Ron English was the DC at Louisville. Am I thinking of someone else?

Edit: I have no idea who I was thinking of. You are correct, he is the coach of E Mich

If UGA keeps losing, they'll run him out of town. Great coach - all he's done is win 9-10 games a year every year until 2009. Familiar to SEC recruiting hotbeds, always has great defenses, tough SOB. We need somebody TOUGH, not nice.

Doubt we'll go back to the option but I'd like Brian Bohannon from GT if we did.

this is MY list and in the same order too....

Now Mike Shula is an interesting name. He might warrant some attention IMO.

Here is the thing. For those that say no shot, I say Bohn HAS to bring in a winner now. His job depends on it, and he needs to do what it takes to get the guy Colorado needs.

Larry Fedora is the HC at Southern Miss and I think is only in his 2nd, maybe 3rd year. I doubt that he is going anywhere.

I agree, but in this climate do you really sse the AD putting up $2mm+ to get a known big time winner?

Right S. Miss. I got that mixed up with Miss. St. WHy wouldn't he jump ship for a BCS gig?

Shula is interesting, the name alone deserves recognition. I thought he did a pretty good job for the Dolphins as a QB coach considering he made Jay Fiedler a decent starter. I didn't follow him much when he went to Bama, but it sounds like he walked into a pretty rough situation. He had one really good year and 3 bad ones. It also sounds like he lost a lot of close games.

Of all the names you all listed the only one that interests me in the slightest is Mike Shanahan.... even though I think it is a long shot I think Bohn needs to be on the phone RIGHT NOW seeing if there is any way we can get him here. What I don't wanna see is another small time coach like hawk with no big time school experience.... that experiment failed so please Bohn don't do it again
