Ridgell Article

Safety Ray Polk limped off the field after the game and wore a boot on his foot when he left the locker room. Polk said he broke his foot on Friday moving furniture. He played much of the game, recording five tackles.

CU did not list Polk on its post-game injury report.

By playing through the injury, Polk earned some admiration from at least one teammate.

“He was man enough to say, ‘Hey I broke my foot, but I’m still going to play, though,’” safety Ben Burney said. “I was proud to see him. He was hobbling around and he looked real distraught and despondent, but then he was like, ‘You know what, I’m playing; I’ll do whatever I have to do.”

Burney said adrenaline enabled Polk to last the whole game. He was rushing Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson when Johnson threw an interception to end the Aggies’ final drive.

Love Polk. Committed to CU even though it was likely the top RB in the nation was going to land here. How many guys with his options would have done that?

To paraphrase Jesse Ventura, "[Polk] ain't got time for a broken foot." I'm sure he's sick and tired of being out with injuries... I also bet he has one helluva swollen foot today.

This explains why he wasn't able to catch Gray on the kickoff return. What a ****ing baller.

****ing ace. Love the heart, but I hope he doesn't do long term damage (and lose speed). Guy is going to be a monster when he gets his position down.

At the autograph signings before the spring games, he was great taking time to converse with everyone, big smile even though he wasn't practicing. Very respectful "yes sir" "no sir" type of guy.

I chat with him on Facebook form time to time-- great guy, obviously tempered in his comments to someone he des not know well, but still very open. Will never have anything but respect for that young man.

Oh, and he knew what the blue shirt thing was about and who it was for. Did not seemed bothered by it at all. Was focused on winning the next game and homework.

That was the first thing I thought of, too. Either Gray was fast as all hell or something was wrong with Polk.

Fixed for accuracy.

I would have repped you, but it seems at least two other people already have. That's enough praise for one post. Try again elsewhere.

btw, ruff, rugged and raw sounds like one hell of a pr0n

Unless he thinks I am a 19 year old girl with a wife and a two and four year old with bad knees from playing high school ball in the mid 80's, then yeah, he might.

But I will be damned if I will rep you for that.:dbt:
