I think it will be Brian Cabral (at least as interim HC after the game in Stillwater).

After that - David Gibbs.

I remember hearing something about Gibbs before. Like he hates recruiting or something like that. Has anyone heard anything like that?

Brian Kelly till someone tells me different!

I didn't put him on the list.. Don't think we have a chance..

Tried to keep it somewhat reasonable..

Just have a hunch its going to be Venables.. Not sure how I feel about it..

Don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me. Could be the reason he left for the pros. I thought maybe Kubs called in a marker to get him as DB coach, but that would make sense, too.

If that's the case, I switch to Kirby.

I don't know, but I still think Will Muschamp is a possibility. Give him a $600k raise to $1.5 M and not have to wait another decade before he gets a shot.

We should try for him but I just think he's satisfied at being at Texas..

Maybe Bohn can change his mind..

I'd love to get patterson or kelley but someone with ties to texas recruiting and development of players would be nice. Proven guy from a bcs conference.

:yeahthat:

Got a feeling that the Venables rumor is true on footballcoachscoop.com.. Just makes a lot of sense and fits into the Texas recruiting/Big 12 conference..

Muschamp already makes $900,000/year. It would take at least $1.5 M to make him even consider us. The head coach at Baylor makes $1.8 so I'm guessing it will have to be closer to that. I bet Bohn would try for Venables before Muschamp just because of the money. Venables makes just over $400,000/year now.

I went w/ none of the above. I would like Patterson but he is making $1.8 mil right now and is in the DFW area already. Not going to happen.

Kelly to ND and is more of an eastern guy.

I am skeptical of Venables. Stoops has had a bunch of assistants leave for HC jobs and he has not gotten one yet.

What about putting Major Applewhite on this list?

I'm betting Venables.

I just don't see Muschamp leaving UT, and I don't see the CU administration letting EB come back. I think Strong will stay somewhere in the South/East. Not sure I see Patterson leaving TCU for us.

Will the next guy who puts one of these polls together please include my boy Niumatalolo? It's always hard to win as a write-in candidate.:sad1:

Kelly would be awesome, but he's the one (not Patterson) that I can't see leaving his current spot. He's already in a BCS conference -- what more could CU offer in a coaching position that Cincy can't?

fwiw I heard hes interested from someone in the know :smile2:

Shanahan would be an intriguing choice. He certainly would have to be willing to take less of a salary than he could get in the NFL. The benefit to Mike is that he can stay in Colorado and continue to live in the mansion he built in Cherry Hills.

And don't stop there - how about Elway as quarterback coach? Doubt if John would be interested in a full time gig but maybe as a consultant and helping in spring practice/fall camp.
