Time to vote for CU senior Jenny Barringer for the inaugural The Bowerman award is running out. The Bowerman, which will be given to the top male and female track and field athlete of the year, has fan voting which will remain open until Friday, November 20, at 10:59 p.m. MST.

I realize that... and it is bogus. She set something like 5 NCAA records this year, an American record, and a whole host of other things

Can we move this to CU Football through Friday? It may not fit, but it's important and AB should do its part to deliver as many votes to Jenny as possible.

Besides, when the hell has this site ever gotten bogged down in protocol and niceties.:smile2:

We need every vote. Can we send a mass Allbuffs PM or email with the link?

Up to 40% for Jenny. Little over an hour left to get your vote in and make sure she wins it.

I think Jenny won.

They haven't changed the front page of the web site to say that voting is closed, but it's stayed at 40% Jenny, 37% aTm, 23% UT since last night and the polls were supposed to close at 10:59 mountain time.

Anything that relys on internet voting is ridiculous. JB is the greatest female track athlete in America in years. The texas lady is a volleyball player who can high jump. I voted way back, so don't remember the aTm lady. But, if this vote were done by true track people; writers and/or coaches, JB would have won by a land slide. Internet voting, fan voting, like you see in, say, the MLB All Star voting, is always bogus. I think the fact that she won at all, going against two from Texas, says a lot.

The Bowerman is actually voted on by a panel of people that know wtf they're doing. A win in the fan voting was just to get Jenny 1 extra vote when the panel votes are tallied. Fans were a de facto panel member for voting purposes.

I think it was a great idea by them to get the fans involved this way. I wish the Heisman and others did it this way.

The heisman does but it is a sponsered vote. Someone like Suzuki did it a few years ago.

-edit- it is Nissan this year:
