As if we needed another nail in the coffin, New Mexico won their first game of the season today - against a 3-8 csewe team.

Will CSU beat Wyo?

From the looks of things, No.

Wyoming is a team that is far from a world beater but has made some steady progress this year. They are playing for a .500 season which would be a milestone for them. They have also been pretty consistent this year beating the teams they should beat (Weber, UNLV, FAU, UNM, SDSU) and losing to the teams that have more talent than they do (Texas, AFA, Utah, BYU, TCU.) Colorado has a worse record than they do but we have more talent even if it is poorly used.

CSU is a team that started out hot partly because they won their SuperBowl against CU and lucked out against Weber and played a bad (then worse) Nevada team. Since then they have been on a power slide with their lack of depth and athleticism exposed week after week. This has been compounded by injuries to a number of the quality players they do have. They now look like a team that just wants to get the season over with and call it a year.

This is always an emotional game due to the long time rivalry and close proximity and similarity of the schools. CSU may just get fired up to try to end the season on a positive note but I would bet against it.

At least they beat Nevada... Who got stomped early but has pwned lately... Heres hoping They kick the **** out of BSU!
