Sacks

How many sacks will we give up Friday? The last two games have been better since the 17 sacks in two games against K-state and Mizzou, however this is the best D-line we will face all year. Our line has it's work cut out for them! I'm saying NU gets 7.

This is a golden opportunity for Miller to prove his worth. Take on Suh one on one the whole game. Suh is too good to stop the whole time, but if he can be kept under wraps most of the time, it bodes well for our chances.

If Miller can hold his own by himself against Suh, then I like our chances. Time to show why you were the #1 OL in the country Ryan, get mean and push back!

Your coaching staff would be just that stupid to try and NOT double/triple team him.

please write all football related posts to one thread in the Football room...

This is the rumor and coaching forum

I don't know if there will be that many sacks. I hope the coaches are smart enough to realize we can't compete with their interior DL and therefore do a lot of 3 step drops and roll outs. We should probably try to limit the number of slow developing run plays with pulling guards too.

If Hawkins has glimmer of intelligence, he will call QB roll out plays. If he tries to have your QB set in the pocket, Suh and Crick will have a field day.

I don't think as many as you may expect. With a mobile QB, they will tend to use more of a containment rush than an all out bull rush with the occasional Corner blitz. Mobile guys can make plays on us.

I'm thinking the Pelinis will try to contain and make you have sustained drives all day as opposed to a few big strikes.

If Hawkins plays, it will be a larger #.

Wow, only one, I was impressed there.

Did the intentional grounding count as a sack? That's the only one I remember and it looked to me like Tyler got his arm hit while throwing and it should have just been an incomplete pass.

Anyone get a good look at it? Might have cost us 3 points.

As soon as the play happened, I thought for sure it was intentional grounding, before they called it on the field.

He short armed the throw after spinning against his throwing motion, with no receivers near him and we were lucky it didn't go pick 6 with 3 or 4 huskers right there.

His first move to roll right was the right one, then he spun back into the pressure against his throwing motion where he couldn't plant his feet. He really panicked on that play and it certainly cost us a CHANCE at 3 points (with the way Goodman kicks nothing is for sure).

Incredibly impressed with Hansen's mobility and ability to keep plays alive with his feet yesterday. Huge advantage against a defense like NU's. McCoy has that same skill along with a hugely accurate arm. They are gonna smoke us. :sad1:

I think it will be a good game actually
