When is the Last Time that the Buff-Fusker Game was Completely Irrelevant?

Absolutely nothing on the line for this game......we are worse than an after-thought on the college football landscape. Oh well...I am sure that Danny is this close to getting things turned around.

The year Barnett lost 70-3. On the line that day was the Big 12 Championship. We haven't glimpsed that kind of success ever since.

Re: When is the Last Time that the Buff-Fusker Game was Completely Irrelevant?

No way this game should be a nationally-televised game on a scheduled basis. Bohn/Hawk, what do you have to say for yourselves?

I dont know how far out the big 12 schedules are done but there is a very good chance that this game will be moved back to Saturday and a more compelling game will fill its spot. TV pays a lot of money to broadcast these games and showcasing CU to a national audience is not what they have in mind. I bet we are back to playomg NU in October again before too long. :sad1:

Re: When is the Last Time that the Buff-Fusker Game was Completely Irrelevant?

It's CU-Nebraska. Please dont say that means nothing. Not calling Dallas Buff out, GREAT fan, but, I havent seen CU fans be this whiney and ****ty in a long, long time. Probably ever. I think it's time we sack up. Yeah, we sucked ass this year. Oh well. THIS IS ****ING CU FOOTBALL. We'll be back. Hang in there, GO TO THE GOD DAMN GAMES IF YOU CAN, and take some pride. Does nobody else see the absurdity of boycotting or not renewing next year if we bring back Hawkins, even though the key reason we will bring back Hawkins is because we dont have enough money (see: ****ty fan support) Thats literally the dumbest **** ive ever heard. Similar to the guy who quits his job because he's behind on bills anyway. The reason we dont have a Bob Stoops/Urban Meyer/etc, etc, etc...WE DO NOT ****ING DESERVE ONE. This fan support is absolute dog ****.

How we are in the top 20 winningest program despite our fans is way beyond me. I love everything black and gold. I literally buy cars based on their color....no ****. I have a CU tattoo. We spend all of our time on an internet site dedicated to the Buffs. Many of you are as/or more hardcore as I am. I get that and am not calling you out. But, to those of you whos answer to punishing a DESPERATELY cash-strapped program is to withdraw support are absolutely out of your minds. These are your Buffs. WE SHOULD BE MAKING A ****ING FACEBOOK GROUP TO DONATE MONEY TO THE PROGRAM, OR AT LEAST BUY TICKETS. ****.

Okay, im drunk. But, I mean every word of this. FUCUCCCCCCCKCK.

PS---come tomorrow night, I'll literally lose sleep because the thought of beating the absolute dog **** out of Pelini and his pussy brother and making everyone in that ****ing state have a ****ty holiday gets my dick hard. It matters to me.

**** EM UP, **** EM UP, GO CUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

Bring back the passion. SO sick of this defeated, poor little us, 6th grade name-calling (see: "talkins"?????????) bull****. SACK UP. Lets do our part to beat the **** out of Nebraska and start the '10 season off early to being a phenomanl one.

GO BUFFS. ****.

Done venting. Rip away.

should be a televised game, just not the conference marquee November holiday game.

quite a drop though in relevance. anymore though, there are a lot of Friday (T+1) games. so, the shame is diffused across many game choices for "American College Football Fan".

Traditionally, in Big 8 times, the game played on this day was Nebraska Oklahoma. The CU game was in October or November. The Big 12 killed that annual OU NU game and replaced it with CU NU both of which were great programs at the time and OU was not so compelling.

Rick Neuheisel did his part and delivered a couple of nice nail biters in the first few years. But, both programs have since fallen into decline. If I were a producer Id try and get the Red River Shootout moved to this day. NU seems to have improved it coaching situation and was actually ranked a couple of times this year. It's the Buffs that have not lived up to this game since the days of Barnett v Solich.

Love it...great supporter, despite your drunken state...my car is black and gold too....

But, my comments are accurate, unfortunately.

that game wasn't even that competitive after about 1988 or 1990. NU put beatdowns on the Sooners until 96 when the Big XII formed.

but, also the traditional networks had a stranglehold on NCAA games in most of the Big 8 days. there weren't FOX or ESPN to televise other games. until OU and UGA (as the College Football Association-CFA) sued the NCAA under the Sherman Anti-Trust Act in the early 80's. a case that went to the Supreme Court and ruled in favor of the CFA.

Re: When is the Last Time that the Buff-Fusker Game was Completely Irrelevant?

Back on topic: I think about 2002 you guys had the North all wrapped up, then came to Lincoln and won. Brandon Drumm looked like a heisman contender that day.

Re: When is the Last Time that the Buff-Fusker Game was Completely Irrelevant?

This is an important game. It would be great beating the corn to finish this season, and would be good for the seniors leaving. Let's see what coach puts on the field Friday, if he gets another year tomorrow. Should be interesting to say the very least, Hawk is still in play...

Re: When is the Last Time that the Buff-Fusker Game was Completely Irrelevant?

brandon drumm was a pretty good fb i recall he opened up some holes for chris brown...those were the days !!!

DoucheStefano comments in the Denver Post.

DiStefano, who has been a strong defender of Hawkins, said Wednesday, "(The team) has good students. They're staying out of trouble. They're doing well academically. But they're not winning. That's the one issue, and that's what I think is the disappointment. But everything else seems to be falling into place.

"Winning is important. ... But again, this is a university. And it's my job to make sure all of our students graduate and become good citizens. That includes our student-athletes."

We are 3-8, but we have GOOD STUDENTS.. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Re: DoucheStefano comments in the Denver Post.

i guess Hawk gets a free pass on the Spring 07 stuff with Katoa and the lb who broke his face on a car window. Geer getting in fights. Barney would have got killed for it.

like i said earlier today, i don't think 2.6 team GPA is anything that consummates "good students" as proof of any extraordinary team behavior. and i also don't get this newfound love of ourselves as the Northwestern or Stanford of the Big XII. CU is a very good public school. that's what it is. like CJ said, it's part of this rhetoric of accepting (or positing exogenous reasons for) not winning games anywhere other than the coaching staff on the east sidelines of Folsom Field on Saturdays.

Re: DoucheStefano comments in the Denver Post.

this school needs an enema. these assholes think they can be stanford. in reality we are more like UGA. Decent academic schools that need good athletics to make a name for the school, both are flagships of their respective states. UGA doesnt try to be Vanderbilt, WTF is CU trying to be?

I love th Buffs and it pains me so, but I'm just losing more and more interest everyday Hack is still the coach. I fear one day I just wont care anymore. Sadly, so do most of the my friends and fellow alumns.

It's official -- CU is content to be irrelevant

We are and will be completely irrelevant. We don't have an administration that is committed to football. These guys have their heads so far up their asses that they can't see the benefits that having a real D-1 football program brings to the university.

F*CK DiStefano and Benson. I love CU football, and they are absolutely F*CKING killing it.

If I see either of them at the game on Friday, I'm going to start screaming and won't stop until their fat wives beat me off with their f*cking toupes.

Re: DoucheStefano comments in the Denver Post.

If things went down the way people think they did, Bohn has to be raging mad
Talk about getting undermined

Re: "The pride and tradition of the Colorado Buffaloes

I'm physically ill with these guys.

Someone bring me another jack and coke.

Re: "The pride and tradition of the Colorado Buffaloes

Wow. I was having one of the best nights Ive had. Ever. Til i visited this ****ing place. god dammit

Re: It's official -- CU is content to be irrelevant

fick this shhit, I'm not wasting my time reading anymore crap. I'll watch on TV or just tivo it, if we win then I'll watch it, if we dont why keep getting dissappointed. I have zero faith in the staff and the administration.

way to lose the fans assholes!!

 The last time this game mattered outside of Boulder and Lincoln.

CU ADMINISTRATION has spoken, Winning football is no longer needed....

Worst support in the country with this administration. They only care about their precious image, GPA's and their citizen BS.

A winning program has benefits and it can be a boost.

CU administration is telling CU fans and alumni, screw you. It doesn't matter anymore. We are not here to win, as long as we have good grades and boy scouts roaming the sidelines, we are not commited to winning.

YOU people are a joke and a disgrace.

Fire everyone
