So is there any chance that this is all just a "saving face" measure, and Hawkins is actually going to accept a position at another school in the next couple weeks - ala Neuheisel 1998?

The only problem with that...who the hell would want him? At this point I can't even imagine a HS team wanting his services.

Doubt he can get 3 million anywhere else.

If 2morrow is really ugly, bad loss, fans throwing things (like 2005) maybe he would consider it if someone would take him.

If tomorrow is ugly, we may wish the fans were ONLY throwing things on the field.

I would say Fort Lewis but they want to win games but they never do and Hawk has trouble in that department. I could see the Durango Herald headlines now, Hawk says, "It's about to pop."

Hawk could end up like Tommy Amaker. not be able to cut it at the power conference level (one good year at Seton Hall, and bad at Michigan)....and end up someplace like Harvard (though probably west of the Mississippi, if such a place exists) where his rah rah joy of the game stuff is considered neat and the old college spirit.

hum, interesting thought.....if the BUFFS lose and lose real big and ugly he just may decide to leave...

I hear ole Notre Dame is gonna swoop in with a $5mil per season deal to bring the Hawk to South Bend... :smile2:

I hope that if the outcome today is not what we hope that the students will remember that they attend one of the most beautifull schools in the nation and will respect who they represent.

The first step toward healing is acceptance. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. :smile2:
