Kent Riddle needs to be fired. Not Sunday. Not Monday. Tomorrow.

It is absolutely inexcusable to see a coaching staff that does not understand how much field position affects the outcome of a football game. The fact that we have given up FIVE touchdowns on special teams this season is inexcusable. The fact that Scotty McKnight is fielding a punt inside the five-yard line is inexcusable. The fact that Jason Epsinoza is still returning punts on a part-time basis is inexcusable. I am sick and tired of bull**** excuses. The special teams flat out suck. They have cost us several games this year and if Dan Hawkins is not willing to hold Kent Riddle accountable, it will set a very poor precedent for CU football.

Why are you suddenly concerned about Special Teams? Is this new?

You are exactly right and it is overdue. Special teams needs to be a weapon, not a deterrent every year.

Yep been saying the same thing, I think he should have been replaced before today actually. Special teams got us beat today, bout 90% of it anyway. Thats a pretty big number.

:lol:Asshole.

I have felt like a voice in the wilderness for far too long.

You are to special teams what Mick Ronson is to the color of our helmets; what Syko is to the defensive line. Obsessed. And all of you guys are right, in my opinion.

The punt return with McKnight I blame him for. Ive returned alot of punts and he should know the rule on that. U stand on the 10 and dont go back unless u can glance downfield and see u have time. The second part of that statement is for guys like Devin Hester, which he is not.

Not going to happen, hawk thinks he's doing a good job, the players just need to clean things up...

As long as DiStefano is deciding, there will be no accountability. This team is still making mistakes that should have been ironed out no later than Hawk's second spring practice. If the coach is not accountable (even to himself) then the coaches aren't accountable.

1. Penalties, not penalties of agression but penalties of lack of focus. Delay of game, illegal formation, false start, illegal man downfield, illegal participation.

2. Play calling, not as much a criticism of selection (although that could be a whole additional thread) but rather who is in charge. This team never seems to have a play called into the QB with more than 15 seconds left on the play clock. We are always rushing just to get it off and if the D lines up wrong for the play there is no time to read and adjust. This may be a part of the problem with the O-line since the center doesn't have time to read and call the line scheme.

3. Coordination of who is in the game, especially on offense, we constantly have guys scrambling to get in and out and lined up before the play clock expires. We frequently have to many or to few players on the field until the last minute.

4. Two-minute offense. We seem unable and unprepared to run a hurry-up offense. There is no sense of urgency, of clock awareness.

This all comes back to the head coach who is responsible for identifying problems and deficiencies and insuring that they are corrected. If Hawk is not held accountable then he is not going to hold his assistants accountable. After all, to admit that the team has a problem would be to admit that he has made a mistake and Hawk doesn't do that, it isn't positive and he won't go negative.

Well most teams I see dont huddle to run hurry up. We seem to for some unknown reason and still cant get lined up, go figure. We are poorly coached and its obvious, we make hs mistakes every week.

Just wanted to pass this along to everyone. No need to worry about special teams, according to Kent Riddle:

"We'll get there, like the entire team will get there."

Boulder Buff is exactly right about Riddle needing to go immediately! Denver the offensive line coach can join him too!

The whole ****ing staff needs to go. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see a single change, other than maybe Ambrose being officially named WR coach instead of a GA.

Riddle and Johnson, see ya! Only problem is if Denver goes, this will be what the 4th or 5th OL coach in as many years. Thats a problem right there on why our line has struggled.

It'd be nice if Bohn would step in and **** can the entire assistant coaching staff. Just to see what kind of response Baghdad Bob Hawkins comes up with.

Agreed. I would love to sit here and say that we can afford to fire DJ right now, but I am really not so sure it would help at all next year to have a different OL coach. As bad as we have looked there this season, we might need stability there for a change.

Riddle has done nothing to keep his job. I'm not sure on Hagan either. He may be about the only coach recruiting these days, but I think his position coaching leaves a lot to be desired.

Yeah tough call there. Don't want to keep a crappy coach, but he hasn't even been here 1 year yet. Riddle and Collins have certainly been here long enough to prove themselves. Collins helped himself with the Nebraska game, and with the whole "continuity" priority will probably stay.

Riddle is clearly the least effective coach in regards to having his unit prepared and able to execute.

I thought this was clearly one of our best performance in the trenches (both sides of the ball) and the way Bonsu and Pericak played against the Cornholes is certainly something to look forward to next season and I am still of the opinion that Romeo is the man to stick with it on DL.

I've been thinking alot about Hagan as well. Speedy didn't follow his blockers on multiple plays yesterday and ran right into backside pressure away from the point of attack. Was disappointed with some of those crucial run plays inside our own 20. However, we stuck him in a bad position against a really good front seven and he still rushed for over 100 yards and over a 5.0 YPC.

Hagan's recruiting is starting to fall apart with a good majority of his high profile recruits failing to qualify academically and others transferring out. Maybe Hagan is still "old culture" and isn't fitting into what the admin wants for football. Not blaming him for trying to go after those kids, but it isn't working out for us too good, so far.

I wish it would happen but it won't. Riddle has been with Talkins since their days at Willamette College. Riddle is going nowhere. :sad1:
