For three years running, I’ve heard players talk during the offseason about how that particular offseason was the best the program has experienced in recent memory. I’m not buying it this time.

The Buffs might actually have an outstanding offseason this year, but I think I’ll wait to write about it when we actually have some proof of it. Otherwise, it’s just talk, and if there is one thing I know CU football fans are sick of, it’s bold, brash words with little or nothing backing them up.

The Buffs have 281 days to improve and develop a little confidence and belief in themselves

Isn't that the ONE thing that Hawk makes it his job to instill. What good are all his self-help/motivational/inspirational bull**** tactics if the players are still lacking confidence!

It just boggles my mind that he spends the least of his time on actually coaching football and supposedly most of his time on the PR front and "life coaching" these players, and we still see a lack of confidence in the team!

Remember the post KSU game quote from Burton about how the other team (KSU!!) was "bigger, faster, more talented" or something like that? I thought it was pretty obvious that was NOT the case, but here we have a fricken SENIOR (with amazing workout #s) stating that. :wtf: So much for positive thinking.

I think it is good for him to take this position because I've already decided to neither follow nor pay much attention to the reports coming out of either spring or fall practices next season anyway

I recall in 1993 a group of soon to be seniors spent their summer in Boulder instead of going home so they could hit the gym together every day to be ready for the fall. Coach Mac said he never had a group of kids more connected to each other and committed to getting better as they were. They went 11-1.

boy was that group of seniors fun to watch! well.... 11 games atleast

Ringo sums up my sentiments exactly. I hope the Buffs do prove it on the field, but I'm uninterested in any talk or hype. Just performance.

I'll be Ringo's Huckleberry.

It's Syko's fault.

This off season, the dood ought to change tactics. Challenge Hawkins to speak out. Forget about recruiting DL and just lose some games.

:yeahthat:

I say this now because I don't think I can take anymore Buff Football for the time being. I'll pay attention recruiting wise, but probably won't make it to the spring game. The next time I'll get excited about CU football is after the CSU game @ Invesco IF the Buffs win.

Really can't believe it's come to this.

Well said Ringo,

Don't tell me about all the guys who lift a truck,
About how well 7 on 7 is going,
How year 5 will be different,

JUST SHOW ME.
