That the AD used the last Texas game as an excuse to fire him even after they were told that they were going to be retained.

He also went on to say that the Hawkins actually ran all of the staff off that he is now using as an excuse for his "Burned Down" comment.

I don't think this is anything new but Jeremy Maclin has actually been a Barnett / CU recruit before Hawkins then after Hawkins he decided to go to Missouri.

Barnett is now saying that there has only been one real president who truly supported the football program and that was back in the Alfred Williams days. He says that they don't have the support (DiStefano) now.

Just a few points.

CU admin in 2004/2005 changed their approach based on the mishandling of the "scandal"...

A strong president is critically important to the success of the football game. Not sure if the current situation is good (Disteph...etc). Right now the football coach has to be able to Work in the environment that's up there. I'm sure Hawkins didn't expect this when he came from Boise. He is working issues head coaches don't expect to in other places, but at Colorado, it's the HC job to retain and develop the kids from an academic standpoint. Can't pass it off to the "academic support system".

His one question for Bohn GB would ask? "How much help can Bohn get from Central Admininistration for the program?"

Can you elaborate, I came in late on that part.

Wasn't that EB leaving? Barnett was there when we recruited Jones-Drew.. EB went off to UCLA and so did Jones-Drew.
yes. God listening to GB makes me realize how douchey Hawk is. I hated GB at the end, and he sounds 1000000% better then Hawk. I hate how Hawk denigrates the program.

The guy that came from the Jaguars?

He didn't say the name. Was Doc Kreis still there at the end of the Barnett era?

The question, by the way, that Barnett was responding to was why Hawkins had to replace so many posititions (part of hawkins 'burned down' complaint, and Barnett was pointing out that hawkins created a need for many of the new people by firing everyone associated with Barnett's regime.

No, the last strength coach was a guy from the Jaguars.. I believe he was here in 04 and 05.. Don't remember his name.. Kreis went to UCLA I believe under Dullard.

Bohn on now....

on speculation that Hawk went around Bohn and met with Phil. Says that he helped coordinate that meeting
