Dear Kennar,
Thank you for writing me regarding CU Athletic Director Mike Bohn’s decision to honor the contract of CU head coach Dan Hawkins next year. I support this decision because I believe it is in the best interests of the University of Colorado at Boulder, and because I believe making a coaching change now would take us further from, not closer to, our goals for CU football. I want you to know I have heard your perspective clearly and have considered it alongside other factors in supporting Mike’s decision. I also want you to know we have communicated our expectations to coach Hawkins, and informed him we expect more immediate progress in CU’s return to excellence on the field. Now we are asking both critics and supporters of this decision to unite to support the University, the Buffs and coach Hawkins, as we work together to get CU football on track. CU’s own history shows that when are united in this manner, great things happen on and off the field. Thank you again for writing me.
Sincerely,
Philip P. DiStefano, chancellor

Same canned response that everyone is getting.

My Dad got the same exact response. Even the "Kennar" part, strangely.

ITB, emails aren't gonna work

they don't hurt.....

this is from another site and the person who posted this is legit-

Donors had committed over $4 million to the AD - I know this for a fact. Those $$$ were going to the AD, NOT directly to buyout Hawkins. However, these donations freed-up an equal amount of $4 million from the AD or school, which was going to used to buyout Hawkins. Bohn has repeatedly said he would not raise money directly from donors to buyout ANY coach. It is a shell game - the truth is that the external $$$ were in-effect raised to buyout Talkins. Chris Fowler did not make-up during the OSU game that the buyout $$$ were raised, and that Hawkins was near the end of his tenure at CU.

What Bohn is saying is technically true only, but false in reality. He knows this to be the case, meaning he is just propagating another deceptive lie, this one of Benson's making. I think he is doing so because he is fearful that Benson will think he has leaked this info to Clough and others and will fire Bohn.

Bruce Benson is not a nice or quality man. He is an autocratic dictator, who Bohn fears. And I have heard that Benson does not like Bohn. I wonder if hiring Talkins and then prematurely extending him might be part of the reason why! Benson has already run-off the best Chancellor at CU in 25 years in Bud Peterson. Bohn may be next.

Keep the heat on! Benson is coming under increasing pressure to fire Hawkins, even now. One Regent received almost 300 emails on Thanksgiving alone after this idiot was retained by Benson. Benson is getting more and more pissed about this situation. He simply cannot understand how football is so important to many CU boosters and alumni.
