So, is the "Greg Brown to Arizona" rumor true?

I'm guessing since the AD made an official press release, you can stop calling it a rumor.

Congrats to Brown. He's a good guy and a good coach, and deserves a better fate than being stuck on this sinking ship.

"Hawkins said a serach for a replacement on his staff will begin immediately, and indicated shuffling assignments among his current staff was also a possibility."

Here we go...Hawkins to make the switch from WR to DB coach next year.

I kid, I kid...

Sucks losing Brown though. Wonder if that will effect Jimmy's decision.

Ambrose to DB coach. Hire Dave Logan as WR coach dammit, let's keep those CO kids in-state!

Make it happen Bohn.

So... was the rumor about him being the 'real' DC after the Toledo game true? Also, pretty laughable Hawk didn't counter this by offering Brown the job as DC and firing Collins on the spot. Hawk is too close to his Boise buddies, or just doesn't have the killer instinct to compete in big boy football.

If they're going to promote somebody from the staff to DC, it should be Cabral, not Brown.

So, who's the poor bastard Hawk will find to replace Brown?

What a freaking mess. :bang:

EXACTLY!! ****!!!!!!! Brown and Cabral were our best assistants, and now he's gone. ****! I'm SO PSST AT BOHN! GROW SOME ****ING BALLS AND FIRE HAWK! This is complete bull****. If I ever for some reason ever meet Bohn, I would not be able to shake his hand...what a ****ing joke.

Totally with you in frustration but it has become apparent that upper echelon at CU does not give a flying **** about how the Football team does.

I wonder what effect this'll have on Jimmy Smith's decision?

Might have some effect, but I think the main thing will still be the draft round estimate that JS gets from the NFL.

Losing Brown really hurts. Why hasn't any school poached the coaches I don't like? Riddle, Collins, Johnson, ....

I'm just waiting for the announcement that we have hired the old DB coach from Willamette or UC Davis that mentored Hawk years ago, but has been out of coaching for 12 years.

He will of course not be expected to recruit.

It's tough to see a CU coordinator consider a lateral move to a school best known for an occasional basketball team. But there it is - he evaluated his future and said "AZ's the better choice."
