I got a partial chub just thinking about that conference.

Don't tease me like this unless you've actually heard/seen something.

The Ultimate 14?

What a great, great, great conference!

No SEC team could go undefeated vs. that schedule.

Don't want to get the hopes up too high, but no one should be surprised if they hear about this being bantered around in the next month.

I'm not saying it will either. The word "exploring" is applicable.

What is your source? Gotta say I love the notion, but it seems to be highly unlikely....

The Pac-10 would have a tough sell with the Arizona schools on that one.

Not to mention ditching Wazzu entirely....

Spurred by the possibility of the B10 going to 14.

I'm not at liberty to say any more than who is being considered.

Maybe heading to the Big 10 when they also go to 14 teams.

Great offseason thread, btw.

Who would the Big Televen take? Mizzou seems obvious if the Big XII loses UT, OU, aTm and CU. Maybe also UNL (wouldn't think they'd want to hang around the corpse of the Big XII)? KU possibly (would do wonders for Big Televen hoops...)? Can't believe they'd find KjSU or Okie Lite at all interesting...

I never thought I would like any association with the PAC-10, but I like this a lot. The games are televised too late for us on the East Coast as it is, but this would be worth next day exhaustion. Not even sure I would care if we didn't play knubs every year or not... not w/ this line-up.

To the B10 NU, KU and MO + 1 from the East or UT, A&M +2 from the East

Wash State has already been considered expendable previously it's not a reach to drop them.

For TV broadcast purposes, three different times zones are covered, the new conference will eventually start it's own broadcast network, the expansion makes it more feasible.

Not sure I follow. B10 is actually the B11, what is the +1 or +2 from the East you mentioned?

Actually, KU, MU and NU to the B10 would make for a pretty interesting conference. Don't know that it would add the tv markets that they are looking for, but competition wise, it would be a good add to the mix.

As nice as this looks... and I like it, would we stand a chance of even competing in this league? Right now it looks like CU would be the Baylor, ISU, Indiana, Vandy, Wazzu... name your doormat of this league. :sad1:

The only thing I know for certain is that nothing lasts forever. These down times will produce up times, which will bring on more down.

It is hard to see the forest through the trees, but I believe our university would match up quite well in a league like this.

I believe the extra revenue a conference like that would bring would end up leveling the playing field a bit for CU. It's not like UT and OU can find too many more meaningful ways in which to look better to recruits than they already do. So, really, it would be a chance for CU to close the gap a bit. Relatively speaking, an extra $10 million per year would mean a lot more to CU's fortunes than it would to UT's.

This would be a nightmare. We'd never win another conference game - ever. We'd be the Baylor of that league. Hell, we're the Baylor of THIS league.

That would make for some pretty interesting college football seasons. Like sacky said, I don't see us being able to properly compete in that league. Our best seasons would still probably earn us only a 4th place finish in that conference. It would be interesting to see how Utah would do in that conference.

Getting so many entities to agree at the same time is difficult.

Game times could change to accomodate the highest numbers of viewers, the conference wouldn't be dependant on national TV revenue as much as it has been since the last contract having added substantial markets.

There will be yearly monster in conference games that will generate national interest, the new conference won't have to work to hard to sell the demand for more money.

Sounds great. Love it! Except that OU and OSU would be together no matter what happened. Nothing is permanent I suppose but there would be a helluva fight on that front.

The sheer entertainment value from watching all those schools trying to blend together would be enough for me.

 Cal and aTm would be a pretty fun mix. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Aggie makes a trip to Berkely.....

It's actually worse than that. We're the Colorado of this league. :sad2:

I can see it now
The annual "bale" game, A&M would feed it to the research livestock and the bears would make brownies.

Do the conferences have any financial obligations to the teams that would be left out of this arrangement?
